The Carnival of Guinea-Bissau

When I saw these pics today I was intrigued but not sure where to put them. Tribal Women? Yes, but also, they are parading in a downtown area in front of hundreds if not thousands of clothed spectators. Where did all this take place? In the tiny African country of Guinea-Bissau. Apparently, they do this yearly in February, and it seems quite a show. What I like about this is that unlike most tribal nudity and tribal festivals, this one takes place in an urban setting on streets filled with cars and pedestrians. A mix of the tribal and the modern - its arguably a bona fide public nudity event rather than just a show of tribal boobs. More pics out there? Note the festival goes by many names, and the country which is Portugese, calls it "Carnaval ne Guinea-Bissau".

This leaves other events of this kind, including Swaziland's Reed Dance far behind. Just have a look at the bodies of theese goddesses! Look at their brown, oiled skin! What more do you need? I only wish there was a video, too.
