It appears to me that junior members post comments simply to up their post count, instead of posting pics. This tends to clutter threads, and when looking for thread updates you are faced with a message like "great thread" or "nice pics".

It would be nice if post counts would only increase with attachments. Just my opinion.

i guess it's easy to be critical of others when you have a fair amount of posts and forget where you came from. everybody has to start somewhere. you should be happy that people are posting at all. posting little thank you comments at first that posters love to see, usually leads to more confidence in oneself and usually leads to posting content. also consider this: you can'd post a url til you have 10 posts. tell me how to get 10 posts without posting comments.

personally, i have a few comment posts and have yet to post a picture. i'm older than most people, have been around the web longer than most people and have an obscenely large amount of content that i have collected over the years. try 24 binders and 10 spindles of dvd's. honestly, i'm new here feeling myself around and haven't decided if i'm going to stick around and post content. thankfully, your attitude is not the majority attitude here or my mind would have already been made up.

if post counts increased only with attachments, this wonderful place would soon become a ghost town as older posters would get bored and new people would not last long. if it was a good idea, admin would have already implemented it. Just my opinion.

Actually, older posters are looking for content, and are happy when someone "thanks" them with a simple click of "thanks". If you have so much to share, then please do!

To put it simply, we have nothing against someone commenting on a thread. We do how ever have a problem with "posting to post links" (which would be making multiple posts in a short amount of time to get 10 posts). We also do not want people bumping old threads without contributing something to it.

14. DO NOT make repeated posts in order to post links. Be creative. Try making a real contribution (like photos) first.

Please do not "bump" a thread for the sake of bumping it. Have something vital to contribute, either content (new pictures, videos, or links) or an interesting comment. Pointless bumps will be removed.
If we see anyone posting pointless comments to get ten posts or bumping an old post those posts will be deleted. We try to do our best in deleting them but we may miss some. Barmixer, I encourage you and others, if you see it happening, please report the member and it will be taken care of.

Thanks,
Slick
