According to my wife, who started going to the gym again a year ago, it has changed a bit compared to some years ago as there are some more women who grow some pubic hair. At least in the changing rooms in her gym, in a city in The Netherlands.

Still, the majority is shaved or waxed bare, she would say about 70%. She has a full bush, there are few other women around her age with a (trimmed or full) bush, but most women with a bush are 50 or older. Maximum 10% with a bush. The remaining 20% has some pubic hair, like a triangle or landing strip.

If it would be only women below 30, it is still 90% bare, according to my wife. There is only one woman below 30 in her gym which she sees sometimes, and which has a bush. All others are bare, and a few have a tiny landing strip or patch. For women of her age (mid-30s), she isn't the only one with a bush, there are a couple more, and also landing strips seem to be more common for women in their 30s and 40s.

Although she has a bush for the last thirteen years, she recently talked about the idea if she should shave it into a landing strip again, as she likes how it looks on some of the women she knows from the gym. So, maybe it will change.

RESULTS UPDATE: according to the weighted average of OCC voters, 60.8% of women are fully shaved.

That means, if you look at 10 of your coworkers or people on the street, and imagine them naked, 6 of them would be totally smooth.


Some observations:
-There are a wide range of votes, suggesting that either we all see things differently or there are genuine variations based on where the observations have been made, age of women etc.
-The most popular 10% banding is 70-80%, followed by 60-70%.
-Annecdotal comments suggest all locations have a high amount of shaving but younger women and nudist resort visitors do more shaving than those in changing rooms where 50/50 had been reported
-The vote was based on fully shaved and excluded anything else, so when other exposed styles like landing strip, postage stamp etc. are taken into account, % would be even higher
-Several comments suggest seasonal shaving or shaving when pussy will be on show
-The vote was based on observations: it's likely that a significant number of women who haven't been observed don't shave. However the saying 'if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?' may apply

Ive had a drink, so ignore most of my ramble. Post found from mixed Euro sauna's.

Doing a poll with a 0-10, 11-20 etc or even 0-20, 21-40 etc would have probably yielded a more accurate result. you have 40% of the answer in just one vote, 20% of an answer in another and just 10% in each of the remaining 4 votes.

Just glancing at the 60.8% weighted average may explain your observations.

You have the first 40% ("hairy" - Option 1) having 23 votes, the last 40% ("shaven" - Option 3,4,5 & 6) having 91 votes. You could dismiss option 2 as its exactly equal both ways. Your result should be around 75% are shaven.

During our last visit at the swingers club I would say that out of the 50 or so women we saw nude at least 45 were fully shaved or wax and the other 5 had small landing strips or little patch.
