Sideways Thumbs
frequently when I upload a picture - that is correctly oriented already - it will create a thumbnail that is horizontal instead of vertical. When that happens I open the pictures in Photoshop and re-save the picture at a lower file size. Then I edit the post and re-upload them. This always solves the problem.
First, I guess I offer this as a solution to posters who have this problem as well sometimes, but second - is this how it should be? It seems that we want to encourage the highest resolution pics within the limits. Thanks, Max

Upload your photos using the Manage Attachments (Advanced Version).
Click PREVIEW POST to see which ones are turned. In Windows, open the original picture in PHOTOS. Click "Edit & Create." In the dropdown menu, click "Edit." In the new menu, click "Crop and rotate." In the next menu, click "Rotate." Click "Done." Click "Save." MAKE SURE YOU CLICK SAVE. Your picture will be on its side. NOW, repeat the process except when you click "Rotate," click 3 times, until your picture is correctly (originally) oriented again. THEN click "Done." THEN click "Save." MAKE SURE YOU CLICK SAVE. It will be properly oriented when you post it. Delete your badly turned photos from your post and replace. This is what I do when I rotate images for members from the kindness of my heart. The process is similar on an Apple.
