Default Google Images

Anyone else having trouble with google image search? Something changed where the results aren’t matching as well in the last week or two. Seems to be searching keyword and not image.

Yes, it seems to have been intentionally "dumbed down" (for want of a better phrase). I use to be able to search for an image with nudity or partial nudity and get a decent response back, but lately ...!

If I try that now, all I get back is the minimal possible response. By that I mean, a pic of a partially clothed lady will come back with a response of "Woman" or "Girl." My latest attempt, (two searches with two slightly different pics came back with "Lady" and "Photograph."

It's pretty ridiculous to even try to use it anymore. I've been relying on Yandex Image search and Tineye lately. At least, if I want any kind of actual results, I do. Google image search is just too flakey lately to be of much actual use.

I notice that the "view" image option has been taken away. Now all I can do is "visit" or "share"--and "visit" takes me directly to the site and subjects me to a lot of garbage (which was probably the point of the change--after all, Google exists to make money, not to provide me images).

Extension that restores the "View Image" button. Thanks to roakky for providing the link to this:

AVG produces many false positives when certain words appear in thread titles. This also happens with threads with the word "Facebook" in the title. We don't know why. But there doesn't appear to be any actual cause for concern.

Thanks of the fix for google. I think it will take me a while to figure out how to use it, not being genetically geeky and all. But I'll try it--and appreciate that I'm not alone.

Well, great idea anyway. Unfortunately it did nothing for me. Tried after I added the extension, nothing. Closed out Chrome then re-opened it and tried again, nothing. It says the extension is THERE, it just doesn't do anything and I see no button.

Did you install it from the Chrome Web Store link?

Maybe try uninstalling it and reinstalling it? There's a support tab on that web store link that allows you to contact the developer if you're still having trouble. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. It works perfectly fine for me.

Yep, did all that. Says "Added to Chrome" and "Compatible with your device" even. But when I do a search, zip, zilch, nada. I get the "Visit" and "Share" buttons and that's it.
