Bitmap to Jpeg

Any ideas on how to get pictures to download as JPEG instead of Bitmaps??? Randomly such as on Webshots it will suddenly start wanting to download pictures as Bitmap....really annoying...any ideas??? Thanks for your time.

i have had the same trouble on a few places aswell. What i found was, rather than click the picture, and then save it, try using the original link and save target as. Sometimes, that work. If it dosent, then you need to save all the bitmaps, but renaming each one. Once you have them all, you can convert them all at once with paintshop pro, usinf the batch conversion tool.

Irfanview also has a really good batch conversion tool: file, batch conversion/rename and then select .jepg as output format. The advanced options tab also has some pretty nice options.

As for saving a file that is in .bmp to .jpg, I don't think this is an automatic feature in browsers (at least it isn't in firefox) so I think you'll just have to convert them after you download them.

Use nettransport (a download manager) to download. Then no conversion is necessary.
