Error 005: Payment declined
Hello,
as described in my previous post , i am trying to buy a membership. Sadly i am having problems with the payment. Essentially i get Error 005: Payment declined, despite the creditcard data working fine on other sides. As a bit of context , i am from germany , and we do not use the kind of zip codes american credit cards have. I tried the suggestion that i got in my last thread , but that did not really help either. At this point i really don't know what to do. I mean i want to pay , but it is not working out on the technical side. |

I'm sorry you are having trouble.
I asked people at One Click Pass and that seems to be a generic error response when a a credit card issuer will not honor a request for payment. Most commonly it will be because they are reporting the funds are not available. I don't think this is an address issue, however I believe the German word for "zipcode" is "Postleitzah". Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong? Is there perhaps a different credit card you can try using? I do know that One Click Pass can only accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover at this time. |

Hello,
thanks a lot for your response and the effort you went through in trying to solve this ! I went through a few more tries , and the error changed to 005: Authorization declined. Which is , well , still the same category i guess. ( This time i just used my german post code for zip code field.) On the matter of postcodes , yes germany indeed has a postcode called " Postteitzahl". What i was trying to say is that german credit cards normally don't use that when you make a payment, i think it is an american think( then again here i might be wrong , idk exactly how the situation looks elsewhere ) However, back to the issue with the error code. I was assuming it was a internal error code of the forum, however after googling a bit about what you said it is indeed a external error code in the credit card buisness. Looks like the bank is just rejecting the payment. I think it might have to do with the type of credit card , essentially when i use it , the bank just deducts the value from my account , i think that differers from what a normal credit card works. I think ultimately i will just have to talk to my bank about it. Sadly i do not have another card i could use. The weird think here is that my bank is actually partnered with mastercard , so what i am using is technically a mastercard. But as i said i will just talk to my bank. Thanks a lot for your help , really appreciate it. |
