image resizing in windows

im wondering if anyone can help.
im using windows xp and widows picture/fax viewer to view images (jpgs).
id like to know if there is a tweak or program that will make all images on my computer be displayed in maximum screen size (for my monitor this will be 1280x1024 for a 17 inch screen).
i dont mind if images lose their resolution a bit, i just prefer to see nice big images that fill the screen.
ive tried microsoft image resizer which works but you have to individualy resize images or batches (id like something that automatically resizes an image to maximum size once ive clicked on it to active windows picture/fax viewer)
