Updates at DFP

I wanted to let folks know what's up with the website.

So, best laid plans and all...long story short: the new site is up and working, if still a bit rough around the edges. HOWEVER, it turns out that the existing database of members couldn't be imported. So at the moment I'm entering every single existing user manually. About a quarter of you should have access now, and I'm hoping to have every able to log-in by tomorrow evening.

The Sunday update is up, and I'll let folks know about it as soon as the more important job of getting everyone back their access is complete.

Okay, the website is now more or less functional and all the current members have been entered into the database. One exception are the Lifetime members because the new system needs a bit more information than the old one, so I need to hear from about 10 people to get them set up.

The Sunday update did occur, but there was little point in announcing it since nobody could get onto the site to get it. So; more than a bit late, here you go…

CAB FAIRE MAIDEN

Addie Juniper can’t seem to get a break today! She went to the beach with some friends, but after an argument she decided to head home. ALLERGIES

Nikki Brooks is going door to door conducting a neighborhood survey. The last house of the day is an older, blind man. While she’s asking him the questions; he begins coughing and sneezing. It turns out that he has a lot of severe, but unusual allergies. One of them is cotton of all things, and Nikki realizes she’s wearing a cotton skirt and top. Confirming he’s blind, sweet-hearted Nikki decides to take them off and put them outside. Unfortunately it turns out that he’s also allergic to her underwear too! Now Nikki finds herself attempting to conduct an interview sitting on a stranger’s couch, completely naked, with the stranger sitting a few feet away from her!

Hey Karl,

LOL! As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm; I'm going to need to point out a few things and make a request:

1. I think that, in your enthusiasm, you didn't read this, which is in bold font at the top of the home page:

This website crashed recently, and so a new version has been created so that subscribers can continue to be properly served. The current version isn't pretty, and cosmetic work still needs to be done. The most recent videos are available here as well to serve your needs. Bear with us over the next several weeks as the appearance, and the catalogue are slowly brought back up to speed.</B>

The first priority was to get the site up and live, then there was the SNAFU with the memberships that had to be resolved. Now that it is; the catalogue is slowly being re-upped as planned.

2. There is no page 2. That was the old site. The new site uses a searchable scroll. Right now it's not a big deal since there's not much there, but when the site builds its way back to hundreds of videos, being able to search the page is going to come in handy.

3. If you only see 10 vids, then something's wrong, because there's 16.

...and as for the request: I apologize to Alex and the admins here for this post as it's off-topic, but I felt it necessary to reply to Karl's post. There's a perfectly serviceable support link on the DFP page itself, and I would ask that folks stop using up space here and in other places to ask questions that pertain to that site. Thanks!
