Arab, Middle Eastern and Muslim chicks

Great thread! During the 80, while in college, I lived in a city with a large Muslim population and I had the good fortune of dating a number of Muslim women. I was surprised that most if not all were shaved at a time when women had full bushes. Apparently it is a custom it is considered unclean to have hair.

Not only is it culture to shave or wax, it’s also part of the religion to maintain good hygiene because of needing to pray 5 times a day. And hair produces sweat so technically the religion says to shave. Back in the days, they would pluck out the hairs. It’s also mandatory to smell good in the Islamic religion despite what people think. It’s a sin to have bad body odor.

What about beards and stinky manjams?
I served in Iraq and I smelled some smells that my nose can't forget.

Here’s the thing, in a third world country, clean running water isn’t wide spread across that country. Now add a major on going war in that same country, and the homes with clean runing water gets even lower. And if they do have clean water, they have to conserve the water. You have to look at all aspects of a situation.
