Default Continued

So I convinced the same girl who's videos and pictures I already found to give me an old SD card of hers. I told her my old camera would only take cards under 1 gig. She comes back a couple days later gives me an old 256mb card she found lying around at home. She asked if that would work and I said yeah thank you.

And an extra thank you now after I have run the recovery

Post Recovery Software

Guys I tried a lot of the free recovery software you guys have recommended here, for me the one that provided better results was SGsecurity's PhotoRec. Great succesful recovery rate for photos, even pdfs and other shit.
The only problem with this one is that just like the other softwares have been mentioned here the success rate on videos is very low. Many appear blanked or if lucky without sound, just a few are good.

I guess we need to find some that is just oriented to recovering videos.

Cheers

Probably nothing to do with being a video and more file size. The bigger a file is the more sectors it uses on a disk. When deleted the sectors are available for reuse and its likely some get overwritten. Smaller files like pics its less likely

hooked then up and they just show up as data storage drives when plugged into my iMac. then just scanned them.

i also have one 3.5" hdd hear but it wouldn't even power up so either the plug doesn't work with 3.5 or the hdd is dead.

3.5" HDDs require more power than the 2.5" models. You may need to find an adapter that supplies 12v power, which would likely require an external power supply.
