No it's not about power, as others have said, it's about communication, respect and having fun. The wife and I have a code phrase we use when either of us spot someone that we are interested in, a simple no is the end of the discussion. We don't go behind each other and we communicate.

It's a difficult thing at the start, there has to be a trust built up, hell at one point we had a friend living with us while she sorted out her life, for some reason (well ok, she is exactly my type) the wife decided that I was interested and she didn't want that, a little argument broke out, with our friend there, it ended up with me explaining very clearly that I had zero interest in our friend, but her sister was a different story....So I ended up getting the cold shoulder from the two women in the house

We really didn't set any guidelines but we have now.

We wanted to keep the freedom to fuck others but not without the other knowing. So at the very least we make a call but as a general rule we stick to playing together. We know those certain times will come up where it seems like it's ok but make the call first. If you make the call and it goes unanswered then it's ok to play since you tried to let the other know.
