Hi folks. New to the site, so late to the party. I'm a pretty accomplished cyclist, as well as someone who enjoys admiring a stunning female, so when I found this site doing a wnbr search, and this thread in particular, I hit the jackpot

As an pretty experienced rider, I can answer some of the questions raised here.

Bike shorts. They're not really padded. They have a thin chamois liner (most of them are only 3-5 mm thick). They do give you a little padding, but that's not their main purpose. That's to wick moisture away from areas that can chafe from sweating--like your crotch, your crack, and under the folds of your butt cheeks. This is for both men and women, and for men, they have the added benefit of being tight enough to hold your junk nice and secure. Helps a lot on bumpy roads, or when mountain biking. Wicking isn't an issue when your ass is bare.

Why is she standing so much? Couple of possible reasons. If you look at the bike she's riding, it's an old steel frame touring bike from the 60-70s. Probably not the bike she rides most of the time. Sometimes serious riders don't like to take a good bike to an event like this, as it could get damaged if a less experienced rider makes you crash. If she's doing 1,500 foot climbs over mountain passes, that ain't the bike for it. With those big tires and fenders, probably weighs close to 30 pounds. It could be that she's just not used to that seat. Seats are different, and not every ass, even a world-class one like hers, is right for a given seat. Seats are contoured, and that's where the cushioning comes in. If your seat doesn't fit right, or you're not used to it, it's not the butt itself that gets sore. It's the sit bones, and especially the perineum, that tissue that runs from the scrotum or vagina to the anus. A well fitting seat doesn't put pressure on these areas. They also make seats designed for women, that have a cut-out down the center, that eliminates pressure on the perineum. That could be why she seems to be standing, an uncomfortably fitting seat. Experienced cyclists also like to stand when slowing down to look at what's going on ahead, or in a crowd. Helps to avoid trouble. Also, if you noticed, she has the chain on the biggest gear in front, which makes it harder to pedal. Some cyclists prefer to ride slowly by keeping it in a high gear and standing, on a ride like this.

I would venture to say that both her and her guy are pretty serious riders. She has a cyclist's body. Slender in the upper body, flat as a table stomach, but thick in the butt, thighs, and calves. He's also wearing a helmet that costs close to $200 US. I've seen almost a hundred pictures of her ass, and there's no sign of any irritation. Probably just a seat she hasn't ridden much that's causing some sit bone or perineum pain. And whoever speculated that this was a one-time deal to please the guy is probably spot-on. I haven't seen a single shot of her from 2012---and I'm sure you guys would have found one by now.

I think you're spot on with your observations about the bike and all that, she's a real cyclist but what fascinates me is after she appears in the video at the start of the event where she's being photographed by the crowd, she then proceeds to cycle around London displaying her perfect little tush by standing on the bicycle peddles. Did she have any idea the devastation this would cause or is it total innocence. London is an advanced civilisation where a brave young women could do this and generally men are respectful, note that most of the people in the video who want to be photographed (fully clothed) with her are foreign.

I hope she comes back next year, we could all get together naked and talk bikes. She's a natural beauty, anyone who can look sexy wearing a just cycle helmet is something else.

Er, that's because they are tourists ! Most Londoners are getting on with their lives (shopping, etc ...) not wandering around Hyde Park with cameras !

I've seen that video. There's a point near the end where she got really flustered (BTW, although my sound quality isn't good, I'm 99.9% sure that she's American), saying ohmigod....I hate.....(something) Not angrily, but you could see that she's starting to get a bit overwhelmed by all of the attention. Also, a little more than halfway through, you see her reach behind her suddenly, and I suspect that a guy standing in the background wearing a grey zipper sweatshirt made a grab for her ass. After he stepped in to have a picture taken, she said something to her guy that I couldn't catch. I'm not a mind reader, but I'm going to guess that she's not a born exhibitionist, and not deliberately displaying the goods by standing. I would guess that either the seat isn't comfortable, or she feels that she has better control over the bike while standing. Ride like this can be fun, but they can also be a pain in the ass in the figurative sense. Most of the people are riding cruiser type bikes. Quite a few look to be rentals from Barclay's. Most have the seat set way too low. Everyone rides slow. If you're used to riding 15-20 mph on the roads, you can't ride this event that way. I've done a few charity rides, which are very crowded at the start, and you tend to have to pick your way around the slowpokes. I stand up a lot when I have to do this. You may notice, also, that she has toe clips on her pedals, which allow you to get better leverage on the pedals, and make standing even easier. Your foot isn't going to slide off the pedals when your toes are all the way in the clips.

Speculation? Given her young age, and American accent, she's probably a student studying abroad. Many of the shots I've seen are total candids, when she doesn't seem to be aware of being photographed. Despite the obvious sexuality she has, there's still an air of innocence about her. I'm not so sure that she realized what an international internet celebrity she'd become when she agreed to do the ride with her guy, and I would think that might explain why there was no do-over in 2012.

No she's definitely English, South london accent possibly, she says she 'hates being photographed' but I totally agree with the rest of your speculation. You can see the bike has been built of different bits, toe clips and all and is a particle commuter bike as would be used by a proper cyclist. I think she's slightly geeky, which is great, as my interest in cycling was started by a really cute girl from Huston, who is now riding around Manhattan.

I am new in this forum, this is my first post and I want first of all excuse myself for my bad English. I am an Italian girl of 26 years who found this forum when I discovered WNBR. I love cycling and I belong to a naturist family, so it is very strange for me never to have known of WNBR activities. But this actually happened.
I look with curiosity to the post, and really I find that this girl of London 2011 can be the brand of WNBR. She is cute, she is sweet, her smile is wonderful and she is natural in her nudity as it ought to be. No shyness neither exhibitionism. And the pic where you see her and her boy tenderly kissing at the end of the ride makes me happy and full of hope for the future. I think I will save that pic just for looking at it when I am sad.

I found a better video with better quality sound. Definitely British. The original one seems to have disappeared from YouTube. There was too much background noise to make out the accent clearly. The "omigod" sounded American to me at first.
