I made what I think are my first voyeur videos last Tuesday. They are of women in and between saunas and steam baths and getting into the lake afterwards. The videos have a bitrate of 28M or something like that (I'm not completely sure what that means), and 30 seconds of video takes up about 100 MB (I have more than 18 minutes of footage divided between 7 videos). So they are perhaps not entirely suited to uploading. So, a few questions: Do you want me to post these videos? Should I reduce the resolution (currently 1920x1080), the frame rate (currently 60 fps) and/or the bitrate, and if so what should I set these to? Is there a way to cut extraneous portions out of an image to reduce file size (the women themselves take up only a small part of the screen)? Should I cut out time segments of the videos that do not include naked women (even if they include women wearing only towels)? Do you want me to slow down the videos, and if so, how do I do that? And finally, do you promise not to yell at me for being disrespectful toward the bathers by posting their videos on the internet?

IMHO, I have two suggestions.
1) Use a video converter to reduce the size somewhat. There are several free video converters/editors available for downloading. My personal favorite at the moment is Freemake Video Converter ( www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ ) You will have the option of sub-dividing your clips in the Freemake editor to make them smaller. 2) Upload the segments to Multiupload and make your post in that OCC section. Hope that helps. |

After re-reading your post, I just noticed that you mentioned cropping as an option. If your files are avi or mpeg, you can use VirtualDub to edit them. Read the options carefully, there is a cropping filter that will allow you to edit your video output. VirtualDub is also a completely free download. ( http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ ) It gives you more options re: compression for both video and audio. However, it is a bit more complicated than Freemake.

The videos are currently in AVCHD format (.m2ts). I have programs that can reduce bitrate and divide a clip into segments, I just need to know how much I should reduce it. I would also be interested to know if there was a way to crop videos in this format, preferably with a moving rectangle (both the women and the camera move from side to side). Of course, if I edit the files with Windows Movie Maker then the output files will be in that format.

concsh, if you have the bandwidth, just split the files into 100MB chunks. m2ts videos will play even if split and are trivial to recombine (you just concatenate the files).

I cannot upload .m2ts files to this forum (I tried). I have downloaded a program that can crop and convert .m2ts files, and I have posted one of the output files below. I wasn't able to make vidcaps of the output file, so I've posted vidcaps of the original video. The video I've uploaded is a centered crop of the original video with half the height and half the width.
I'm still not sure of the best way to proceed. I could convert the videos into a form that I can upload without changing anything else, but do you really want to download a bunch of 100 MB videos that only last 30 seconds? Some of the original videos are more than a gigabyte in size (well, one is, and others come close). If I am to continue cropping, can you recommend a program for it? Right now I am using the evaluation version of something that I'm supposed to pay for if I want to use for real, and there are restrictions on the evaluation version. I might be willing to pay, but I would want to feel confident that I was paying for the right program. Another option would be to simply reduce the quality of the videos, but I personally think it would be better to cut out trees, ducks, and empty buildings and furniture than to make trees, ducks, furniture, buildings and naked women more blurry. |
