What is the purpose of using someone's full name? Could someone explain how it enhances the post?

To me, it seems somewhat ignoble to use a woman's full name, whether she's famous or not; professional or amateur. I was under the impression that we here at OCC were better than that.

Surely these people are already in the public eye. The same as posting the first and last name of any other celebrity.

Is it forbidden to write "Brad Pitt" or "Angelina Jolie"? No? Then why should it be forbidden to post an athlete's first and last name?

If that's your rationale, that professional athletes are celebrities:

Rule 13) Do not post posed (photoshoot) or candid (paparazzi/oops/red carpet/etc.) celebrity photos or videos.
