Makes sense, since in sports one is focused on the actual sport, which requires optimal everything (conditioning, clothing, performance etc.)

Mate you'd have to ask him lol,.. being in a relationship with his daughter, i wasn't game to ask. I kept my mouth shut and was all ears

But i can tell you it must have been a sight for sore eyes many a time, because he wouldn't raise a sweat for anyone unless there was something in it for him!!, The only reason he took up being a ref was because it paid good pocket money, where as the struggling women's league paid nothing!

You'd have to go by 'vince wiley's description, though i would have thought nowadays they'd be wearing just bike pants type underneath
One thing way back then in regards to uniforms, was that there was rarely any customized outfit for each player. It was usually one size fits all, and the more petite the gal, the baggier the shorts were for better viewing pleasure.

Wearing her husbands briefs? Well I had made a slight mistake once. I used to play Sunday football (yes soccer), normally I wear boxers but for football I wear black old school cotton briefs as boxers are too big. So one game I was fishing them out of a bag and noticed a pattern on the waist band which didn't seem right until i looked at them and realised they were my girlfriends black cotton knickers! Fortunately she's had big hips so they fit me ok, a bit tight, I just prayed no one noticed (which they didn't). You may wonder why I still chose to wear them - well I wasn't going to get my boxers muddy and wet was I?

Couple of years ago my wife and I were visiting friends in Wiltshire. On the Sunday they took us out for lunch in a nearby village and we went for a stroll afterwards. When we returned to our car there we loads of people about. The car park was next to some football pitches, and players used it for parking. We were quite suprised that the players were all female and even more suprised when some of them changed in the car park. A few used the public toilet in the car park, but having used them ourselves earlier I could well understand why most of them took their chances outside! I suppose they didn't change inside their cars because they were pretty muddy. For most of them it was a quick strip, rub down with a towel, and into tracksuits. Virtually all of them wore 'sensible' underwear - sports bras and 'shorts' type knickers - and a couple had one piece swimsuits. Only one girl had brief undies on. She still had a sports bra but her knickers were a tiny white lacy thong which was almost invisible - certainly an improvement on all the others! By the club badges on their shirts they were Chippenhan Town ladies, but it must have been an away game as we were not in Chippenham.
