It’s probably easier for them to declare in advance they might not or won’t get naked, and then get naked, than vice versa.

The first time we went she was incredibly nervous, partly about whether the whole thing would be seedy and partly what she would look like in the pictures. However, after seeing how good the lingerie shots were coming out, she felt comfortable enough to lose her bra and then panties. By the end of the day she was completely buzzing. We had two more trips there.

I'm a photographer. Very few women will go nude in their first photoshoot. Best to test the water first with glamourous dresses, high heels and lingerie. If she enjoys it go further next time.

Background: we've done lots of public nude beaches and spas. For a long time, she wasn't keen on public nudity but has become more relaxed over time. The main reason this works is because of the freedom being nude rather than anything overtly sexual, although this is also a factor. She has started wearing thong bikinis and has been naked / topless in front of family members. We've never done anything more risky outside of the bedroom. She can be talked into risqué things, but her initial reaction is often negative.

Is the best approach to start with something mild (but risk her not enjoying it and it never being repeated) or going straight in for the full nude shoot (if she would ever agree to it)? I would like to be in a situation that starts 'safe' but, with her consent, ramps up to something with extreme exposure. I would also be interested in a couples shoot, and would even want to involve full penetrative sex (but I think the chances of that are zero).

My wife was the same. Her best friend from school gave her a voucher for a boudoir shoot for her 40th birthday. At first she couldn't imagine what it would be like. But her friend explained to her how it would work. Then she became curious and decided to give it a try. The two women talked for a long time about how she could imagine it and what she would wear. She was very clear that she definitely wouldn't be completely naked. It could be something transparent.

So she actually booked an appointment with the photographer using the voucher. But she didn't want me to be there and didn't tell me the date. It wasn't until 2 days later that she told me that she had been to the shoot. Of course I was very curious to hear how it had been for her. Then she started to tell me that the shoot hadn't really happened yet. The photographer explained his approach to her and asked her how exactly she imagined it. He showed her lots of photos from his portfolio and she chose what she wanted from them.

He also showed the studio with the equipment and lighting.
Furthermore, she should always move around and do what she wanted in a relaxed manner and not pay any attention to him. After that, the clothes she wanted to wear were discussed. So nothing had happened yet, even though I was already waiting for the first photos.

Over the next few days, she looked for lingerie that she had in the closet and bought some more. Of course, I wasn't allowed to see any of it.
Then came the day that she went to the photographer again.
When she came back, she was bubbling over how great the shoot had been. She was able to pick up the prints in 2 days. There were 50 postcard-sized pieces. The photographer had also staged her really well. She had started with a black negligee with long spaghetti straps that was totally see-through and only had a thong on underneath. A series of photos began with her pulling the straps down at the sides until both of her breasts were exposed. She also had both hands on her breasts and in one photo she had one hand on her breasts and the other hand in a thong on her pussy.
After that there were more in hot lingerie but always with thongs on. I asked how she felt and she said it tingled. Then she went on to say that she had been asked if she could imagine taking more erotic photos with a male model. I was surprised and said if she wanted to do it I had nothing against it.

Weeks later the time had come. The next photo series showed her sitting on a park bench in a garden and in the background a man was lying on a lounger in jeans and bare-chested.
Now she was wearing a two-piece set of a corset and a bra and a kind of transparent kimono over it. Then the guy stood behind her and had his hands on her neck. In the next photos his hands were on her breasts while still on the bra. He slowly peeled off the kimono and bra and then held her breasts tightly in his hands. When she stood up she was only wearing her thong. In one photo his hands were around her stomach just above the thong.
In the last two photos she was lying on the bench in just the kimono without a thong, one side of the kimono was hanging down to the side and showing her breasts, the rest of the kimono was lying loosely on her naked body. In the next photo the guy is standing behind her and lifting the kimono so that you can see everything!
