After successfully covering the post-ride skinny-dip last year I'm pleased to reveal this year I did the Brighton Naked Bike Ride myself. I was in the fenced off area at the start and photography there was not as difficult as I was expecting. The bodypaint tent in particular provided interesting material!

However, I anticipate the best pictures from this year's event (from everyone, not me) will be from the impromptu disco at the Steyne, which shall henceforth be known as the Best Disco There Has Ever Been Or Ever Will Be. It was immense fun! Too much fun to describe here! But I'll drop a couple of preview pics.

I don't think I did very well at the beach this year, I'll post something in due course but frankly I was exhausted from the ride and mainly watched everyone else taking pictures, hoping they'll end up here!

I must admit that I was right there but didn't get a great deal. I was just enjoying it too much (and everyone kept getting in each other's way). I loved that short haired girl. She was so natural and was just loving it. Who cares that the fountain was turned off. Can't beat a bit of disco inferno and the group dancing to the band on the other side of Old Steine were good fun too.

Funny, I was outside the enclosed area for the first time ever and it bloody works! Almost impossible to take photos of those inside, which were any women in a state of undress! I've always said going naked and riding is the key to getting coverage of these events, so well done!

Where are the beach shots? I'm really hoping some of the clothed girls stripped later on the ride or on the beach!

It wasn't great down there. One woman (herself entirely covered) picked up pebbles and threw at one guy with an iPhone or some such, accidentally hitting a rider behind him. I did point out her double standards, in saying no one should be on the nude beach if they were dressed. A good few people hung around to take more pictures but I wasn't down there very long.

Not sure about the dressed/undressed state of anyone. I kept seeing people first entirely naked, then wearing a little, sometimes later more or less fully dressed and later still naked again. More down to the cool wind that sprang up for a while than anything.

The warm spells came along at just the right time (as the people gathered at The Level with ride time approaching and just as the ride reached the beach). Downside of the beach is that by around 4.30, if the people are in the sea, you're snapping directly against the light. Didn't snap anyone just relaxing as I thought that was a bit off limits. Others will have done so - but whether the pics make it out is another matter. So many just seem to kept what they take to themselves.

Here's the best I got inside the enclosure. (well not strictly true but I'm not posting anything where I could be identified as the photographer).

I love the first picture, those ladies were very much in love. I just missed the caressing hand on the hip.

Haven't seen this lady been posted before. Have to admit, I do have the hots for this type of lingerie, certainly beats a bikini by far!!

I've found a few more reasonable shots of the pretty Asian rider from London yesterday. Here they are. I was quite pleased with the angle I managed to get.
