Sunday I met the nicest couple, and I wish I could have bottled their magic,

As I arrived to prepare a park pavilion for a family function, I found this elderly couple sitting at a table enjoying a gooseberry pie. I began the fire in the pit and the coal, placing my coffee pot on to get going, then approached them. I explained that it would get noisy soon when the kids got here and I am sorry for interrupting their peace and quiet.

They offered me a piece of pie, and I offered them coffee, we introduced ourselves, then my wife arrived and took it from there, I had to set things up. I was happy to see we were not running them off, they stayed for several more hours, enjoying the attention of the younger kids while the older ones played vikings and villagers.

After being surrounded by the younger girls, making umpteen dream catchers and getting twice that many pictures drawn for her and presented to her like a lost Picasso, the elderly woman and man decided they had to leave so they could get home before it got dark.
The man played washers with us and ate at the table as a guest of honor, being toasted by the Viking Hoard with their root beers and paper swords.
I noticed not one of the drawing were left behind when they left, and I hope they bring fond memories to them

So, as soon as I got home, tired from all that cooking and outdoor activity, I jumped in the shower, the into a robe and off to watch Game of thrones, what fate awaits my favorite characters before the writers kill them off like all my other favorites before them.
