I visit Haulover many times, as I live in South Florida. I would suggest going during the week with less crowds and a lot more quiet.

We visited around that time 2 years ago as our first time at a c/o beach. It was great. Couple solo guys about 8-12 feet from us but also a bunch of large groups of friends hanging out too. My wife likes the crowds better as she doesn't feel as exposed if everyone else is. She went topless the first time and bottomless the second. great experience

You have several things working in your favor. We live here and spend time at Haulover. Right now we're hitting the rainy season. Mornings are going to be the best time to get out. Afternoons are very unpredictable.

Recondo is correct. During the week, the beach is more sparsely populated. That may or may not be an advantage. if you're one of the few out there, it could draw more attention rather than less.

The beach is deep (water to plant buffer) but not large length wise. Traditionally (but there are no hard rules), the north end is where the gay population tends to gather. The first lifeguard station to the second going north to south, tends to be the 'regulars'. South of the second tower to the end, is both newbies as well as folks that want some space. In the 'regulars' area, if you go on a weekend, it can get pretty crowded so if you want to be by the water, get there early or you'll be headed south. The reason for getting to this area, is you can blend in more. If you're worried about unwanted attention from sneaky photographers, this helps to mitigate that. The less crowded, the more bold someone may get. Plus the regulars are more attentive. We have been there when an individual was trying to sneak some pics. He was spotted. No confrontation, though he was loudly pointed out and moved on out of embarrassment. Taking pics is not 'forbidden' (I've photographed my wife as well as asked neighbors to take pics of us), but if you are open about it and demonstrate that you are not looking for voyeuristic photo, but rather looking to get pics of your wife, folks don't mind so much. Going to the water line to take them is also a good idea as you can avoid others if that is a concern. It's a nice reminder of your trip for later.,
