The pictures are the Harem bath & A favourite Custom - you can see how the photographer tried to follow the idea of what was acceptable to a gentleman at the time |

Hans Baldung
This drawing by Hans Baldung, circa 1515 was supposedly quite controversial for the period and early Christians. The print is called 'Accepting the Dragon's Fire' and has dark implications. The artist was born in 1484, the year Pope Innocent the VIII launched the Inquisition.

Pop art meets porn:
Jeff Koons married Hungarian/Italian porn actress Cicciolina (llona Staller) he created the Made in Heaven series - much of which he later destroyed on their divorce. Cicciolina not only became an Italian politician and member of the Italian Parliament where she infamously would give speeches with a breast exposed. Can you imagine that in the House of Commons or the House of Representatives!!?? |
