Yes, you're right,
The dresses are also required to be accessable from below the waist, and so slit waist to floor front and back... A good read

Dress style
Check out the 1970's movie "Story of O". This style of dress is featured and explained in the movie and these dresses might be based on that movie.

Wondered about these....
I have written here in non-fiction about my "Nudist Neighbor" and how she wears either nothing or odd revealing "swimsuits" on her property and occasionally visited me when I lived next door to her large acreage on a river north of me.
She has told me often about parties she goes to in NY over the winter months and women must wear exotic outfits. I have seen photos of her at some of these events in bondage gear, lots of black lace and stockings and also in elegent expensive dresses like these that leave her breasts and pubic area completely exposed. She told me that her dresses had a slit all the way up the back from the bottom to the waist so men can feel her backsides at these events. Your photos here are the first I have seen other than those she has let me see. You can see all of her there is to see in my "nudist neighbor" thread, and I will request and see if she will share some of her photos in these dresses to add to this thread. Thank you!

Story of O Fashions
Those long bare-breasted gowns with slit skirts are from an outfit in Germany that makes and sells garments, jewelry, and fetish gear like that described in the book Story of O by Pauline Reage. They have a German language web site I'm not allowed to post the URL of, but you can find it if you google O Erotik Shop. There are pictures posted on this thread that aren't on their website and vice-versa.
