Hotels. I love hotels. They are very intimate, and you never know what strangers will do as you walk down the hallway, see them at breakfast, or what your own friends will be comfortable with if you share a room with them.

This last weekend was a jackpot, well for me, at least. On a total whim, we stayed at a rural hotel (though quite large) to see the fall colors. It was a very cozy place in the rooms and around the hotel itself. Very rustic, not commercial feeling at all. I was hoping this would make people more comfortable walking around in pjs, etc. The windows had thick wooden slats for blinds that wouldn't close all the way, so even though no one could see into your room unless they were against the window looking up and would only see the ceiling, you felt like you were exposed the whole time, which was fun. The pool area was very inviting as well.

Saw lots of people walking around, but most were fully dressed, or if they were in pjs, no one was wearing anything revealing, except these two women, which were sadly far fewer than I expected, but it's still two more than none:

First. At one point late into the evening, I went to the ice machine, and when I came around the corner, a 20-something was getting ice in her pjs. Warm pink and white pj pants, light pink pj tank top, and very clearly no bra. Then I told her a story about how a coworker of mine was wearing a shirt that came unbottoned, and she got mad at me for not telling her, but I didn't want her to know I was looking, and she said to always tell a woman when something is showing because she would rather know now than find out later after more people saw. The woman I was sitting with said, "I am not sure I entirely agree, but I understand where she is coming from, but I don't mind that you told me."

Then another dad and kid walked in, and she got very obviously uncomfortable, and I heard her mutter "damn" under her breath. She stood up immediately and asked me if I could watch her kid for just a few seconds, and I said sure. She left and came back with yoga pants on and a light sweater literally 20 seconds later (I really wanted to ask her how she got dressed and came back so fast, but maybe her room was right around the corner, but still, it was pretty darn impressive). The other dad and kid left because the kid wanted to go to a movie, not borrow one, leading to arguing because the closest theatre was probably hours away, and my own kid finally picked something out, and I left the woman and her kid there. I said to let me know if she needed me to bring her a pillow and blanket.

I was hoping to run into her the next morning before we checked out, but I never saw her again.

Now the pool part.

There were very few people there, but both women were quite revealing.
