Well that set the cat amongst the pigeons. Although we must declare ourselves as part of the swinger community and enjoy the sexual aspects of the Cap. It is rare to see outright sexual activities in the general public areas at least during the day. But some times a few glasses of wine together with the "Heat of the day", does spill over and this can be the end result.
We must stress to families and to those that some would call "Prude Nudes", that this sort of thing is generally restricted to that part of the beach, well away from families known as "Plage Libertine".
We do understand that some people think that the Cap should be reserved for what they call genuine naturist's but in all reality as with the rest of the world, life moves forwards. We hope that here in this most unique of communities the least we can expect is that "Naturist's, Exhibitionists, Voyeurs and Swingers", can live happily side by side.
Don't be put off by what some of the narrow minded might say, do come and enjoy a fantastic holiday in this Paradise whatever your thoughts may be.
Don't be prude be NUDE.

I totally agree that some see naturism as a non-sexual lifestyle. Fair play. But really, this site isn't a naturist site. It's a titilation site (nothing wrong with that either.)

A genuine naturist would be very put off by the idea that some people see it as a form of exhibitionism, voyeurism or an opportunity for swining.


For sure, there IS a lifestyle where nude is free and easy - thats all good- but it's questionable whether or not that is a "naturist" lifestyle.

I think some people do find the "bluring of the lines" between the categories to be a bit unsettling.

Actually I look at images here because I LOVE Cap d'Agde. And its the natural images of people walking about nude/semi nude I enjoy the most. Having said that, we have been going there the past four years and find that the freedom of being nude in public is spoilt by the presence of many there who come to gawp and get lucky (many do I suppose) because of its sexual reputation. The girlfriend covers up when we walk through areas where some people sit about to "size up the talent" for want of a better way of putting it. Nothing against the swingers since they generally keep to their activities on certain parts of the beach and the clubs etc. But our inhibitions in the shops, cafes, bars etc. is caused by the day visitors who are not always nude. I for one would prefer it if it was all nude everywhere all day long (weather permitting) swingers or not, but without the clothed gawpers who inhabit the place because of its reputation. But then the lure of commercial enterprise..........well that's what makes the world go around I'm afraid.

The campsite mentality would suit us but the accommodation and facilities don't. Haven't tried Vera Playa but feel we would get bored there over a week or two. All in all I still love the Cap.

You have no argument from me about that. That isn't the issue. The issue (foe me) is that Agde 'degrades' the naturist lifestyle by constant portrayal of 'all things swingy', to the exclusion of almost all else. While swinging may only be a small part of it, it is the part magnified in the minds of the press. And that's not good for 'naturism: the lifestyle'.

Yes, indeed- but (and meant with no disrespect) surely anyone who comes to a site like this isn't really motivated by the pure naturist ideals either?

For sure, you make a valid point, but perhaps this isn't the best forum on which to make it- if that makes sense? These sort of forums really are not in line with the naturist way of thinking.

As I say, nothing wrong with anything- but surely these threads are not about "the naturist lifestyle" - they have a voyeuristic/sexy/exhibitionist element to them

i'd even argue that magazines like H and E are straying from the naturist ideals a bit too- more towards "naturist glamour".

True, and sometimes 'pure naturists ideals' aren't my motivation...a pretty woman is a pretty woman, whatever the setting. Point taken about this not being the forum for philosophical discussions on the nature of naturist ideals.

Cool- and yeah, I think OCC sets the boundries well.

There are, I'm sure, naturist organisations offline (clubs, swims etc) that uphold the ideals. I'm not sure if any photo websites honestly do, though.
