Art lovers get naked for exhibition

Art lovers visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney are being invited to strip naked in order to view and take part an exhibition that starts in three weeks.

The idea is to remove any barriers between art and patron, but also to give the viewer a more personal experience of the themes the artist is grappling with, so to speak.

The artist is Stuart Ringholt, and he will be naked too.

Campbell Live spoke to the gallery curator Jeff Khan – and both remained fully clothed.

Twins sign up for pitch and butt - naked golf at Adventure Island

SO what are these couple of chilly birdies up to...? Emma Burton, 28, and her twin sister Sarah have ditched the Plus Fours and chunky chequered sweaters and are ready to help set a new world record.

The aim is to get as many naked people as possible to play mini golf at Southend’s Adventure Island.

The aptly named Pitch and Butt event will raise cash for Prostate Cancer Charity with golfers teeing off from 9am on Sunday, March 25.

Emma, of Cavendish Way, Noak Bridge, is not fazed by the challenge. She said: “I work as a life model for art classes at Southend Adult Community College, so I have no problem with people seeing me naked. It is just a bit of fun for a good cause, plus there are going to be loads of people doing it with you. I prefer raising money in events like this because I don’t think I’m fit enough to run a marathon.”

Naked golf on Southend seafront sets new record

Adventure Island on Southend seafront has set a new world record for the most naked people to play a miniature golf course in an hour.

Called Pitch and Butt, people taking part started the challenge at the theme park's crazy golf course. Thirty people who turned out helped set a new record, including the Echo's chief features writer, Tom King.

Cash raised will go to the Prostate Cancer Charity.

Woman accused of shoplifting strips naked at store

Police say a woman accused of shoplifting at a Kennewick store stripped off all her clothes in an apparent attempt to show security guards she wasn't hiding any merchandise.

Officers were called to the store in the Columbia Center mall Monday evening, and the woman got dressed.

Police spokesman Mike Blatman told The Tri-City Herald the woman's 9-year-old daughter started crying and pulled a box of jewelry from under her shirt..

A woman alarmed parents by stripping naked in a town centre and running past two schools during the morning rush hour.

The 25-year-old removed her clothes outside a guitar shop and sprinted down the road wearing just a pair of glasses and carrying her handbag.
