Dug up a couple of images. Has anyone found more of this woman at gas works?

Default First time ridef

Hello dear OCC Community, I am on my way to Seattle and cannot wait for Saturday!

It will be my first event like this or like the WNBR but I am waiting already the whole year for it.

What tips do you have for me as a newcomer?
Where do the people get painted?
Where is the best place for taking pictures?
How to get painted my self?
Where do I find a bike on short notice?

Thanks for you help!

Hopefully someone like willie t or one of the other people who actually go to Fremont will be able to answer the question, but if not, all I would suggest is: ask them. From what I've heard from people here, they're a very open and friendly group. Go to their website (fremontartscouncil.org/solstice-cyclists/), join the Yahoo group (SolCycles@yahoogroups.com), just find a way to ask them these things. Unless somebody here is able to answer, of course.

My advice is to touch base with the cyclists through their website and attend the painting party before the parade.

Many cyclists who ride in the parade are not part of the group that paints for the event. They just show up. All are welcome.

It is easy to photograph the parade along the route although this year the ride will be shorter than in the past as the cyclists will not loop around several times.

The best bet for photos is to attend the post-parade party in Gasworks Park at the end of the parade route.

Rental bikes are easy too find. Have a good time. I hope to be in Seattle myself.

Minor correction, the link posted above is for the Fremont Arts Council. They're the sponsors of the parade, but the ride is separate, albeit closely related.

The solstice cyclists page, which will tell you everything you to know, is:

solsticecyclist.org

I won't be able to make it this year, unfortunately. It's one of my favorite things about Seattle. Have a great time!

My advice is to put the camera away for the painting and just go and talk to everyone. You will find that if you are one of them they will all talk and laugh with you. The at the end take some photos. By then you will know the people and the photos will mean much more to you.
