I have mixed feelings about making this post.

That said I should point out that the entire cast of Torn Out Theater’s production of Antigonick will be played by transgendered actors. All women parts will be played by trans women and all male parts will be played by trans men.

I realize that this will make some people uncomfortable, but the Sophocles’s play Antigone is itself about politics and gender roles, and the Anne Carson translation that the director is using is even more focused on these issues, this post modernist take on it is relevant.

Though if you are planning to make you dick happy and you have a problem with queer cultureyou might want to look somewhere else.

It's not really a question of culture. I have no problem with 1000 Pound Sisters culture, but I still don't want to see them naked.

Where did you get this info? I saw the casting call seeking "Female, Gender Non-Conforming, Non-Binary, Trans-Female" actors, which I took to mean they were accepting actors who identified as any of those genders. It looked like the Oracle role was only role open to just non-binary/trans actors.

The show starts tomorrow, and to be clear, this post I quoted is NOT true at all. The cast list does include at least one trans person, but there are several cis-women, and they will all be fully nude at some point in the show. I had uploaded a few of their headshots a few posts ago.

The Center at West Park
165 West 86th Street.
Entrance on Amsterdam Avenue.

Friday, August 20, 8:00pm (door opens at 7:30)
Saturday, August 21, 3:00pm (door opens at 2:30)

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required for entry
Masks must be worn at all times inside the theater
There is no advance ticketing. All seats are first-come-first-served.
