Comic Relief is a charity appeal done by the BBC, so normally BBC radio presenters take part- in this case I assume there was a nudity angle. Its not that they are "forced" rather its assumed that they will join in the spirit of the charity event as part of their job.

I remember reading an article by a journalist from newcastle who was obliged to take part in a Spencer Tunick shoot as part of getting the job (or so she claims.)

I think it was the British who started that idea, comparing themselves to neighbouring countries who were much more openminded, at least about nudity and often about sex too. I'm sure it wasn't hard for that meme to take root in those coutries either. The weird thing is that it made it across the Atlantic to a country that is much more uptight still (or perhaps more accurately just a very vocal part of it is), but by the time it got there it was stripped of the context of what comparison needed to be made to find the British prudish.

Yeah, I'll go along with that.

I think we go for smut more than sex. We love the idea of a bit of cheeky nudity but find the idea of full on shagging "a bit too far" (not me mind!!). It's only relatively recently that weve allowed anal sex and hardcore porn over here but goto page 3 of The Sun and for the last 40 years there'll be a girl with her norks out.
