Why not? Not everyone from the US is a prude but the culture limits us. When we get out of country in the right places it gives us permission to be more free.

Hell I talked my wife into skinny dipping with me and my stepmother (and many others) just because we could.

Being nude isn't always sexual, sometimes it just feels free.

It sounds unlikely to me based on my family, but thinking about my wife's family they are totally different and, although not nudists, they have always been comfortable nude around each other.
When we stay at their house, my wife will get up in the morning and walk nude through the house to the bathroom, I know at least once she's bumped into her dad.
So I can see it happening with certain families if they're already relaxed about nudity.
