Defintately. That's why I love manga, in particular. There are few people in the world as creatively perverted as the Japanese, especially their geeky manga artist types. Take TAG for example -- if that story (revolving around a girl being brainwashed to play a game of naked tag across town against her will) was done as a live action pornography, it just wouldn't have worked -- would have been campy at best.
Sometimes the idea is more important than the realism of the delivery method.
