I see so many comments of you guys that find the stories posted here hard to believe. I guess most of you that are skeptical do not live in Europe or are not from one of the countries most stories take place i.e. Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Austria, Sweden, Finland etc. I have visited many Spa's, Sauna, Thermen in the Netherlands and Germany and find most of the stories very easy to believe as I have had many similar experiences myself. Especially, in the larger wellnesss centers, in big (student) cities (eg. Berlin, Koln, Amsterdam etc.) so many beautifull girls and ladies (mostly couples or group of girlfriends) are walking, showering and swimming naked without shame. It guess it looks like heaven on earth. But even for guys like me once you are there you get at ease with all that beauty quiet easily, and after a short while you can also enjoy the sauna and everything they facilitate without walking with a boner all the time ;-)

So for all you guys that are still very skeptical. Visit the sauna and see for your self.... enjoy our sauna culture!!

I just want to stress...to keep this great sauna culture alive, respect the ladies. Most of them just want to enjoy the sauna and have some good talks with their friends. Most of them (of course there are some exceptions) do not like to be stared at or get checked out. Do not follow them or perv arround. Just enjoy the sauna and spa and everything that happens naturally arround you.

I agree, many spa visitors would neve go to the nude beach, for example, but in the Spa it is just somehow normal to be naked. I agree with Germany (Munich is the best.)

At my local sauna here in Sweden, the sauna is mixed into two sections, male and female. However, once a month they have a mixed day where it's open between the sections. At the reception they always make sure to tell customers that it is the mixed day today, so that nobody gets an unwelcome shock.

Usually there's a bit of a queue to get in so you can observe people being given the information that they've turned up on mixed day. Most are aware of it, but I've witnessed on several occasions women who get a bit shocked and surprised to find this out, but decide to go in anyway. These are always fun to spot in the sauna later - women who are quite comfortable being naked around other women, but aren't used to having men see them naked. They often keep their towels around them in the sauna, but there's no avoiding getting naked when you have a shower or a dip in the sea.

I visited a Swedish sauna for the first time last year. I was visiting a large city opposite of Copenhagen with my girlfriend. Because the weather was okay-ish, we decided to check out the local sauna because we thought it would be a nice to have a sauna and then dip into the sea. Yes, most people who come on this day are regulars, and they come on the non-mixed days as well, so often they go on the side the usually go on out of habit. It's alway more men on the men's side and more women on the women's.

Yes I've been to saunas in Germany and the Netherlands and have been shocked that there are so few women with pubes. Here in Sweden it's a bit different I think - the full bush look is commonly seen, at this sauna at least.
