Have you seen the quality of itsmee's HD video still frames? They are better than any thing I've seen from a still camera. A lot of still cameras that supposedly shoot HD have very grainy pictures when shot at full size. Someone I know has a HD still camera that takes huge pictures that are grainy. When you shrink them down they look good. But very grainy at full resolution. Try making a still frame from one of Jackass' HD movies. The image quality is good.

Here's a link to a gallery of Itsmee/karennudist's video still frames. Voyeurweb compresses the hell out of the pictures submitted to them to reduce bandwidth use. But these still look good at 87kB per picture. They were probably much better when submitted.

I don't know how much itsmee's camera costs. But it probably isn't cheap. An HD video camera that you can get high quality still frames from would be a nice addition to Pedro's arsenal. Can we get a contribution fund going?

As I mentioned, I have PM'd Itsmee here, but as yet have had no answer. I have found an affordable replacement, but it is a still (not video) camera.

I am afraid an HD video camera would be far too expensive, bearing in mind that the place it has to operate is VERY hostile (not to mention what might happen if a boyfriend caught me!) to any high tech equipment, so I would be a little nervous if I used an expensive piece of kit, bought by the good members of OCC!

It's a lovely idea, but I doubt if many people could afford to contribute. That said, perhaps I could save the best stuff for those in the 'contributor's club'

It is good to read you have possibly found a suitable and affordable camera.
As you say with the risks of loss and damage it is not worth buying anything too expensive either new or from eBay etc.

Indeed cameras with internal optical zooms are few and far between. The Ricoh RDC7 and RR1 were good in that respect plus looked different from a standard digital camera.

Purely from reading websites these look potentially suitable

strange..why dont people use big zoom bridge cameras.Olympus sp800 is cheap,small (for a bridge cam!) and has a huge optical zoom(800).U can operate from very far away which is safer.When people get caught,its because they look suspicious.With a bridge camera,u can let it rest on the floor and switch on the hd video...
So u are tapeing hd and in the same time,u look in the opposite direction...a must..

It doesn't have zoom but is rugged like hell. And looking at the above link it looks like the shots were at very close range so a wide angle could well be used.

It's got great time lapse functions as well for continuous shots..

Seriously, you would hate the shots from this, I am not going to sit 8 feet away from other nude beach users and film them, I did that once and was caught! It's a big zoom or nothing, if I have not found a viable alternative (for about $100, the price I have found a similar camera to the one I use), I will go ahead and buy it, while I can. If I were a pro (and you all paid me $20 a month for my work, then I would go HD video), but as a 'hobby' I do not want to invest any more.

The camera 'problem ' has now been solved, at least as far as continuing with these beach pics are concerned.

I have ordered a basic (ex-demo) model of the Fujifilm FinePix Z300fd Digital Camera - Black (10MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD , which is an identical spec to my camera from last year, but only cost me about $70, which (in Europe) is a good deal, believe me! We may have plenty of nudity, but gadgets cost about 50% more than in the U.S! Without this, Pedro would not be getting anything from the beach.......except a tan!

As far as you people who want me shoot HD videos, if you can get together to purchase one, I'll give it a go, but I just do not have that sort of cash to spend nowadays.

mmmh ! did you shoot yourself ! We will all be interested by your results...
The beaches where Pedro goes are quiet little so he can't be really far of the girls or other people around.
So he has and wants to be the more discreet he can. And as he explains, he is afraid too of the sand (even if a lot of his beaches are with stones I think...)
And honestly you've to know another things : on summer, the sand/stones are really hot and create 'warm vapors". It means that farther you are, lower quality you'll get, even with a huge optical zoom, especially when the cam is located near the ground.

mmmh ! I don't think so because sometimes I think he used a zoom. And with a wide angle like this, you'll have to be at 5 meters of the girls to get a good video. And you can't be so close in general, only on a crowded beach where everybody is looking and checking people around = danger danger...

All above in the post by 'the-obs' is true, although stony, sand is about and the camera operates (under cover) at ground level. Hence, these natty little HD video cameras are difficult to hide, as they are designed to be held upright at eye level. They also have no zoom.
The reason I take more care is the fact that my beaches have a great many regular beach users, so being caught will pretty much mean the end of my being able to use the beach.....and feel comfortable. I will not take any extra risk, just to get you guys closer shots. If anyone wants to try this, I suggest they look at the odd threads here, where some members have had a go at getting shots! It's not easy!
