A girl I went to school with is selling her I Phone 6 and I have said I might buy it. She 100% has taken lots of nudes on the phone but will have deleted them. She won't have gone any further than deleting and then deleting recently deleted. Would I still be able to definitely recover pics from there? I don't want to waste �200 on a phone for no bloody reason

Probably not.
Depends on many factors as for example if iphone is jailbroken or not.
Easiest thing to do when selling an iPhone is resetting it. Encryption on these phones is enable by default so i think it is going to be hard (if not impossible at all) to recover anything.

If she just deleted her pics and just de-associated her Apple id maybe something can be done as you would get the numeric code (touch id code) to decrypt the phone memory and maybe you can perform a scan but i don't know if recovery tools can handle the iPhone filesystem, which root level is not accessible unless it is jailbroken... If somebody has experience regarding it I would be curious about the results....

I would not recommend an iPhone for this kind of activity as security is pretty strong.
