i posted more then a few gigs on the beach thread but i have stopped to because of the constant repost of pictures there. Chances are anything i post is going to be a REPOST so why post it that thread i might post it in my assorted amatuer post thats where i tend to put pictures that might be reposts

Osreb, I'm pleased that you have decided to cooperate with us, and by "us" I think I speak for most of those guys like Sal32, Zeban, etc who host and try to manage large threads. OCC is big enough for everyone, and there is no limit on the number of threads you could author yourself if you wanted to.

Remember mcp1275? Sometimes he posted with such a fury that we almost had to pull on his reins, too. You guys are so enthusiastic sometimes, it can be hard to say there is a need for some control....

But.........I don't want to see "thread abandonment" as you call it become a regular occurance here, or worse - OCC abandonment. So maybe we have found a way to keep everyone happy while still posting basically what they want when they want....

I'm just getting on the forum today right now, and I wish I could have been involved in this discussion earlier. Anyway, I've read all the posts, and here's my observation: This seems to be less of a debate about reposts, and more of a debate about where pics are being posted. I think if Osreb had posted all of the pics he's posted in this thread in his own thread called "Osreb's Skinny Dipping Thread" (or something), we wouldn't be having this debate at all. In short, you can do what you like in your own damn threads around here (as long as you follow the forum rules), and thus you should respect the wishes of each thread starter. Of course, you guys have already come to this conclusion, so I'm being a little redundant here.

My suggestion for you, Osreb, is that from now on, you consider starting your own threads for whatever topics you want and posting whatever you want in them, reposts or not. Since it would be your own thread you could just post one picture over and over and over again for all I care. You do post some great stuff, Osreb, (aside from the reposts), and we'd hate to lose your contributions entirely because you've agreed to stop posting in some threads. By starting your own threads, you can post whatever you want without all the hassle.

As for the "hassle", as civil as this discussion has been, we really should get back to posting and enjoying pics, which is what we're here for. If Osreb agrees to start his own threads, I think that would be the fairest solution for everybody, and would probably make everyone the happiest.

edit: So, yeah, basically what Klondike said above while I was typing this.

Over about the last 2 years, in between a few original sets you've posted on my beach thread, you have been reposting a large assortment of pics a gazillion times over and several members have complained about this including Klondike

In April 2008 klondike had 'Thanks' clicked 8 times for saying this,

Sorry, but some attention to reposts would help keep this huge thread from becoming a huge mess...

I thought it was amusing during all of this the way Osreb kept posting even while he was arguing and trying to fend off criticism. It seems almost like a compulsion that is autonomous....

But those posts, Osreb, just kept getting you in even hotter water.

Anyway, I am done and Fango might not realize that this discussion was spread out over three threads during the past week or so. So if he or anyone else has a really morbid curiousity, they can go into my "Russian way of life" thread and read more...

You know, I look forward to these new Osreb threads. Combing through them will be like going over to imagefap and looking for that 1909svdb penny that someone unknowingly slipped into a bag of coins. And there won't be any stress involved either. Thats because I'll be watching that ol favorite movie on my own time, where the subject is "web classics" and everyone knows it.

Everyone thanks for his opinion, everyone made his statement. A statement that is clear for everyone (thx Fango!). Osreb, your original pictures are always welcome in this thread (because some of them really are great!!), as long as it aren't the same reposts over and over again and as long as they fit this thread.

Having your own Osreb-thread seems great, specially for a big public of junior users for who all your pics are new to them.

I hope from now on that everyone can enjoy again this thread, together with the threads of Sal,Klondike and many others on this forum.

Sal, Klondike, Rocket, and others, thx for your honest opinions. Thx for playing on the bal, not on the man.
