Having just spent two different trips to the beach this summer, one in San Diego and one in Florida, I’d say the number of thongs is around 80%. Nearly every woman under 40 has their buns out, and probably half of women 40-60. I saw a mother with two daughters. She must’ve been 60 and the daughters in their thirties because they had kids too. All three ladies wearing thongs.

It’s so common these days but for those of us who grew up with it not being the norm it’s quite a lovely trend.
