URL of my own website

Hi:

I've been a member for years, but only rarely post my own photos. I've had my own websites since 2000, but am shutting them down. I haven't posted those photos here as they contain my website url's (Flash4Us.com and MardiFlashers.com) which I believe would violate rule 4. My websites are currently closed to new members and will close for good on December 1st.

Since I'm closing I've edited some of my most recent photos without the website url, just (c)Fingers. A senior member (flankr7) recently posted on that thread the following comment:

Fingers, FWIW you CAN post photos here with your own watermark. We just can't upload watermarked photos that belong to other people.

Also, just to echo what others said, I'm thrilled to see you contributing here. I subscribed to Flash4Us off and on for decades, and of course always loved your contributions on Cocco.

If that is true I could post many more of the pictures I've taken over the years. To be clear, these would be images where I am the photographer but that have my old website urls on them. Can you clarify if this is acceptable or fobidden?

You can post photos with a simple watermark of your username or a personal logo as long as you aren't selling anything or trying to profit from our members.

You cannot post photos with any website's URL, even if it was own. That's a rule we cannot bend. People would find it confusing why some watermark URL's are allowed and some aren't. Also, your posts would be constantly reported to the moderators by well meaning people trying to point out that it is against the rules.
