Image Management Software?

Hi,

Tried searching on this, but if it's out there on OCC I couldn't find it.

I think I'm like most of you - tons of pics from years of downloading stuff. But in my case, they're completely unorganized.

Is there a fee/inexpensive tool that will:

- let me create categories
- QUICKLY assign a category/categories to a picture (hopefully just "view", "click" and on to the next one)
- let me view pictures by category
- back up the resulting database so it doesn't get lost and I have to categorize stuff all over again
