I did my 8 weeks on a maternity unit. At the start of my time there we shaved pubic hair off. Mid-way through the standing orders where changed and pubic shaving was stopped. Some researched showed that it didn't reduce infections and might cause infections due to razor nicks and rash. I did get to see a good few pubic areas before and after. Never shaved a patient but shaved a good few colleagues and GF etc afterwards.

I don't find the birth process to be terribly sexual but maybe someone will like this. Our first child was a c-section. After the baby was out and the wife was still on the table, our birth assistant walked from my wife's head to her feet, did something and returned. She said my wife had been exposed for a while and she'd covered her up. In other words, my wife had been exposed to the OR staff (which included several males) for long enough. With our 3rd child we'd learned that my wife delivered late, so we avoided doctors until the last moment possible. If we didn't do that they might rush the delivery and we'd end up with another c-section. But we cut that one too close and could make it only as far as the ER where the delivery happened. It was a quiet night so there was a large audience of 10+ ER personnel watching (from the direction of her feet) push out.
