First of all, thank you so much for the in depth response. Reading this has made me INCREDIBLY more interested in the prospect (which is definitely shared by her as well....will do my best). I totally agree, as a sports team I think there are a lot more opportunities to showcase creative poses that really show off the body in more candid way.

Totally agreed by the hidden vs covered point. Hidden shows way more confidence which based on our research of the links you provided, makes for an infinitely better product. Confidence is no issue for her at least, as obviously she's already posed (tastefully) nude.

My second piece of advice? Hidden Nudity, not (just) covered nudity. The difference being nudity obscured by objects (Hidden Nudity) vs. covering up with arms and hands (covered nudity). Some covered nudity is fine, and even inevitable, but it's the Hidden Nudity that makes these naked calendars fun. Girls standing behind objects placed in the foreground, girls holding objects in front of each other, girls holding objects in front of themselves, etc. The smaller and more teasing the objects, the better. The more daring and exposed the girls are willing to be, the better. Hiding behind large objects defeats the purpose; they might as well be dressed. We want to see as much of the girls' bodies as possible, as much as they are willing to show.

Totally agree of point 3. I don't think exposing those areas is as much of a concern as how to do it tastefully, so am curious to here suggestions. Ultimately these women WILL need jobs after all. Maybe a BTS video that shows full nudity but a calendar that doesn't.

Speaking of which... My third piece of advice? If your girlfriend and her friends are willing... how 'bout some uncovered nudity? Frontal nudity, that is; uncovered rears are generally par for the course in these calendars. There have been some naked calendars that have gone the uncovered frontal nudity route over the years, and they are always fantastic, for obvious reasons. I guarantee that a calendar with uncovered nudity will sell more and get more attention than one without, again for obvious reasons. Something I've always wanted to see, but don't think I ever have, is a calendar that has Hidden Nudity pictures for the first 11 months, and then for December, a photo of the girls posing full frontally naked, uncovered, as a last month surprise. Something like that would be awesome, if the girls don't want to do the entire calendar uncovered. It would be the best of both worlds. But if they did want to do the entire calendar uncovered, I wouldn't complain.

Interesting idea! Not sure if the men's team would be up for it too as that's a separate discussion. But a lot of the women have had....relations...with that team so I can't see it being awkward. As for my girlfriend, we'd both be up for it as she works hard for her body so why shouldn't it be seen...

Regarding your suggestion about fully nudity, any tips for how this can be done in a tasteful way? I see that being the best hurdle as after all, a lot of these women will have to get jobs later on. Perhaps a covered calendar (showing bum) and then a BTS video showing everything a bit candidly?

I very much agree with this, to the extent that I attempted to coin a term for this idea: ITAN (Implied To Audience Nudity).

Basically, when you look at these photos you know that someone is getting an awesome private show even if you aren't.

My suggestion would be that the uncovered frontal nudity be in the actual calendar photos themselves, not just a BTS video. That is what would really make the calendar stand out from the crowd and grab attention, since there are so few of them with uncovered frontal nudity. But a BTS video with uncovered frontal nudity would certainly be welcomed either way.

There are a couple ways that your girlfriend and her team could go if they wanted to be bold and go the route of making a calendar with tasteful uncovered frontal nudity. I would call them the "fun" way and the "artsy" way.

The "fun" way would be to make a calendar with the same exact creative poses and situations as would be present in photographs where they would be hiding/covering their nudity, except... they're not hiding or covering their nudity. Their nakedness would simply just happen to be candidly, matter-of-factly on display, instead of hidden behind objects or covered by arms. The key elements of the photos, as they would be in a hidden/covered nudity calendar, are fun, humor, and creativity; "sexiness" is almost secondary, and whatever sexiness there is is a by-product of the fun. There should be a lot of smiles, making it obvious that the girls are having a good time taking the pictures (which they hopefully would be!).

The "artsy" way, on the other hand, would probably involve black and white photography, more smoldering looks, striking poses and the like. On this path, the sexiness is definitely foregrounded, but with the clear expectation that the girls are taking (and the viewers are looking at) some serious, artistic photographs, displaying the beauty of the human body.

Both ways would certainly be tasteful. There is absolutely no need for Playboy/Penthouse or, I guess as a more up-to-date reference, OnlyFans-style photography in a calendar like this. In fact, that's the exact opposite of what your girlfriend and her teammates would want to do. The girls don't have to be, act, or look like models. They just have to be their natural selves. The appeal of naked calendars is getting to see regular, everyday girls, who would typically never do such a thing, posing with their clothes off and having a good time doing so. My personal preference would be the "fun" way since, well, it's more fun. And I would imagine that the girls would be more comfortable with the "fun" way as well, since they wouldn't have to put on any airs or act any way out of the ordinary. Plus, there's more creativity involved. The girls could come up with all sorts of fun and funny scenarios that wouldn't just be putting their hands on their hips and staring down a camera lens (not that there's anything wrong with that ). But both paths are equally valid.

Here are examples of two calendars with uncovered nudity. Both, I hope you and your girlfriend will agree, are tasteful:

- For the "fun" way, The RiXpe Calendar 2012:

Lots of smiles, fun use of props, bright colors, etc. We just happen to be able to see the girls' breasts. But that's not the focus.

- For the "artsy" way, Australia's women's national football team The Matildas' infamous 2000 nude calendar:

Black-and-white, sultry expressions, angular poses, etc. The focus here is more on the women's athletic nude bodies, since there's nothing else going on in the photographs and each player receives her own solo, front-and-center photo. Perhaps a bit more intimidating for first-timers, which is why I recommend the "fun" way.

Absolutely incredible your level of knowledge, we are both extremely impressed and enjoyed reading your in depth response. The examples really helped drive your points home, as when initially reading it, it seemed like the "artsy" way was the way to go although when seeing the pictures it certainly can be seen the appeal of both sides. Perhaps there is even room for both. A strong vision is perhaps just doing shots of the sport actually being PLAYED nude and having that turned into a calendar. I think it shows the hard work the women put into their bodies in a more natural and practical manner. Something you wouldn't really get by doing bland copy/paste poses. Plus it also tones down the nudity without totally erasing it.

I expect there to be varying degrees of comfort should this go forward ranging from "I'll be nude but not even show my bum" all the way to "who cares".

It's very interesting to stumble upon this community and it certainly helps navigate some unique feelings of planning/pitching a potential nude calendar shoot where one will be seen nude by many many others. Your guidance is invaluable, has only increased excitement and appears to be unparalled. Given that she has done nude modeling before obviously there is an element of familiarity while still being a wholy new (potential endevaour).
