Duplicate images

Does OCC have any means for finding out of an image has been posted anywhere on the site? Recently had another member poke at me about posting images that have already been posted on other threads or earlier on the same thread.

It would be awesome if on the threads that once a photo is posted, it can't be posted again on the same thread...Or if the same photo could not be posted on multiple OCC threads. Once it's posted on a thread, that's it for that photo.

It would save a ton of web space. It would also make each thread more interesting to view.

I can see Posting a pic that has been Posted by somebody else and that would be an Accident since it would be Impossible for you to view All the Thread Post and check to see if the pic your going to Post has been posted before!
But on the other hand we have Members that do it All the time on their Own threads and keep on Reposting the same pics Over & Over Again!
To me that is done on Purpose and not by accident and then after being Caught for Violating RULE 22, they come up with tons of Lame Excuses on Why that happened - Like I can't remember all the pics that I Post here on OCC or I'm getting Old and my Mind isn't working as well as it use too!
With all of that being said, I agree that it makes those posts Boring and WHY would You give them any Thanks for the same OLD Reposted pics!
Hitting the Report Button and telling those Above at least for Me doesn't work all the time!
I hear that the size / the color / the shape / and the whatever is just a bit or tad off, so nothing is done for removal and your not aware if that Member was told that if they keep on doing it then something will happen?
Keeping the Reposted pics off will save Space and I fully agree with those Members above on this Issue~
That's my 2 Cents worth and I don't Report them Anymore!

I think I'll solve my concern by just not posting unless and until a system is in place that weeds out duplicates. Someone else can take the push back and snark.
This was a fun site at one time. Oh well it is what it is.

I understand everyone's frustrations with reposts. Unfortunately, with a site this size with over 13 million uploaded attachments, it would be impossible to implement a reliable, fool-proof system to prevent duplicate photos.

We do a have system that prevents member's from reposting files that are identical to a file that same member has previously posted.
