A long term family friend, a woman of a certain age just showed me a photo of herself quite naked.

This all happened just a few days ago. My wife and I were about to travel to spend the holidays with family, and the only thing left on her list was a white dress for New Year’s Eve. After an exhausting attempt at the mall, we ended up going to a crowded, no-frills clothing store near our building, hoping it would be quicker.

The store was packed, chaotic, and completely disorganized. While my wife went to grab a few dresses, I stayed near the checkout line to save us a spot. From there, I could see the fitting rooms at the back of the store — flimsy curtains, no separation, no lines, and people basically fighting for space.
She found a few options and managed to get into a fitting room. As she tried the dresses on, she sent me photos. The first one was a simple white dress, just above the knee. We both liked it. The second was strapless, a bit longer, and she wasn’t so sure about it. She even said she might not bother trying the last one she picked since she was already leaning toward the first.
I looked toward the fitting rooms, expecting her to come out soon, and realized the crowd had only gotten worse.
Then, out of nowhere, an older woman dragging her daughter by the arm pushed her way toward the fitting rooms, bumping into people and clearly not caring about anyone else. After getting frustrated because she couldn’t find an open cabin, she noticed that one of the curtains had a very small gap. You couldn’t really see inside, but it was enough to make it stand out.
She probably assumed the cabin was empty and that no one had checked it properly, so she walked up and suddenly pulled the curtain open.
But that cabin wasn’t empty. Inside the fitting room was my wife with her back turned to the store slightly bent over. The problem was that she wasn’t wearing the last dress she had tried on — or any of her clothes at all. She was only wearing underwear, and that immediately caught the attention of everyone nearby.
Before the shocked woman and her daughter could close the curtain again, my wife turned around toward the store and instantly realized what was happening. Since the last dress she tried was strapless, she wasn’t wearing a bra, and she instinctively tried to cover herself with her hands. Still, there was more than enough time for people around to notice.
Even though I was standing some distance away, I could clearly see everything.
The woman quickly pulled her daughter away and shut the curtain, while my wife just stood there completely frozen, staring out toward the store, clearly in shock. I could hear people laughing and pointing toward her fitting room. To make things worse, it felt like the curtain didn’t close properly afterward and ended up leaving an even bigger gap than before. I had the impression that a few guys nearby took advantage of that to peek — though I couldn’t be completely sure from where I was standing. It was probably just my pessimistic mind making the whole thing feel even worse.

She said “your date with Liz.” No jealousy in her tone just cracking a joke. So I flipped it back. “Didn’t we tell you? It’s a nude plunge”. For the briefest of moments I think she believed me. Then reason set in and she said “oh shut up”. Then I told her I was gonna wear my normal trunks. These are light green and when wet you can sort of see skin through them. I’m hoping to let them cling to my package and see if Liz takes a peek.

We head out tomorrow evening and our Airbnb has a heated pool and spa so I’m expecting a lot of hot tub time with them too. Excited to check out Liz and see Sam eyeballing my wife.

I hope you won't. It would be pathetic if your trunks are indecent. It wouldn't help into your wish to have casual nudity. I don't understand why your wife doesn't support your wish. Maybe you didn't find good words. You should have a look on nudists sites and try to understand this way of life. It would help you to verbalize your feelings and convince your wife to try casual nudity.

For me, in such conditions, nudity is obvious and there is nothing indecent if it is accepted by everyone. But wearing see through green light trunks, beyond the lack of taste, could make wife and friends unconfortable.

My wife and I enjoy taking nakations to various clothing optional or nudist resorts. At these locations we’ve met couples who we’ve become friends with on social media. When on these types of vacations, it’s common to intentionally spend some time at the resort next door or other public area to snap some clothed photos suitable for posting on social media. Having no photos at all would be rather strange and suspicious in this day and age.

Sometimes while browsing social media we will see these friends post such photos of their recent vacation. It’s a low key massive thrill to be in on the secret and know that they spent their recent vacation nude 90% of the time. Makes you think how many people must have viewed that tame vacation photo of her in a bikini and wondered what she looks like without it. Let’s just say I know the answer to that very well. Naked friends are the best.

For me, in such conditions, nudity is obvious and there is nothing indecent if it is accepted by everyone. But wearing see through green light trunks, beyond the lack of taste, could make wife and friends unconfortable.

They’re not actually see through. Just clingy to the point where you can make out shapes. I don’t feel this is any kind of line as we have fairly openly suggested attraction to each other and all parties have seen each other looking from time to time. It’s hard to describe. But suggesting full nudity would just not happen. Probably a cultural thing but it is what it is.

I'm sorry. Indeed, culture (religion too) and education shape our relationship with nudity. This can change with age. That's why we see so many older people in naturist centers, who at 40 said, “That will never happen.”

A small event that has lasted a lifetime. The during the weeks when my wife and I met. I sometimes wonder if our textile friends and family notice that my wife never has any tan lines when wearing a swimsuit or loose top. You always catch glimpses of tan lines when women adjust their bathing suit straps or on their hips.
