I haven't seen anything anywhere else yet.
Looks like the watermarked posts are reposts of Flickr stuff where he has replaced one watermark with another , he doesn't normally watermark his stuff.

I would be very happy to be proved wrong on this but it looked like a very small turnout.
Well, I have been observing an exodus of the photographers covering events and parades from the Flickr last couple of years. Honestly I am planning to do the same thing this fall when my subscription expires. I don't like to pay for my pictures to be seen but to have nothing to see myself. Plus pretty much all the interaction except "likes" on Flickr is gone.

The question is where did all these people go?

You are right, that might be one of the reason is happened, but I think face recognition across the whole internet is not publicly available anymore.

I remember when face recognition was working at Google Images and some other search sites.
But in 2025 I have a feeling that this feature is long gone, probably available now to the law enforcement only. At least I don't know any search engines as of today that support it across the internet, while there are plenty tools supporting this kind of search across your photos.

In addition to this I think the picture recognition (not the face recognition, but search of the same picture across the internet) stopped working on Google Images too, recently. Now they have some AI instead that tries to analyze your picture and offer your additional places to buy any goods (especially expensive ones) found by AI in your picture.
My guess the manufacturers of these goods pay Google to have their goods "found" by Google Images.

What I am trying to say "the landscape" of the facial recognition and picture recognition available to the public changed drastically in the recent years. Maybe too late for some people who used to participate in those events.

Correct. I didn't like it to begin with, as I felt it did more harm than good. However like mostly everything else, if you pay you can still get it easily.

Facial recognition is publicly available. It’s not free, but anyone with a credit card can use it. This a touchy subject, as I’m strongly opposed to using it to find personal photos of event participants and post them on this site. But I don’t want anyone to have any illusions that the issue has gone away. It hasn’t.
