No, we probably can't stop this republishing of material from other sites. I admire your efforts to wipe out photoshopped material where bikini clad originals are doctored to create 'nude' photos -there's something wrong about photoshopping- but the cropped, watermarked photos? There's something of King Canute about it. I'm not saying you're wrong to try to keep on top of it, but it still looks like a losing/lost battle.

Well, the one way to stop it is to get rid of all candid beach threads.

I believe that most of us here have been at this for years, and as such, if they're halfway paying attention, they should come to recognise material from certain sites by the quality and style of photography, locations, etc. I've come to immediately recognise anything from Abby Winters, AO30, ATK, and others just from a glance.

Then there are the obvious crops you can easily spot because they don't have standard dimensions. The not-so-obvious crops still don't have standard dimensions, but are far more subtle. They can be determined by looking at the dimensions by hovering the cursor over the thumbnail. If something is irregular, it's probably cropped.

So I'll go back to the rules as written:

4. DO NOT post or request photos & videos that are watermarked with another website's name or URL.
5. DO NOT post a picture with the watermark edited out in order to circumvent rule #4.

They don't say, "do not crop." They say, "do not post." If you're not sure or too lazy to check, don't post it.

The other alternative is to petition Alex to change the rules to allow watermarked and cropped images. And while we're at it, let's ask him to allow pro porn models too, so we can look like almost every other "amateur" site on the net.

Its actually pretty easy to spot the style of photographs in most of the cases on this forum. The are a core group of websites that beach photos are routinely taken and if people are not aware of that core group of sites then perhaps they should not be posting on this forum in the first place. The onus is on YOU to make sure you are not posting copyright material, ignorance is no excuse, otherwise any person could say "someone cropped it before me and posted it somewhere else". That might happen for a select few photos from more obscure sources, but like I said, the vast majority of offending photos on this forum are from the same core group of sites, its getting quite ridiculous lately.
