Seems I've attained a certain amount of minor notoriety because I post on here I was also accused to being in possession of an 'intrusive lens' while attempting to take the picture of a WNBR flag This ludicrous militant old trout was even worse than that one in 2014. She constantly broke the law by preventing people from exercising their legal right to take photos in a public place - which is harassment. Talk about bloody hypocrisy The only people who came out from the enclosure (where all sorts of dodgy doings were going on) were those happy to be snapped. But this ridiculous woman constantly made a pain in the arse of herself. This is the sort of thing that's killing WNBR, not a few pervs with iPhones.

Ride was decent all things considered. The riders were almost entirely friendly. Says it all that there was a party atmosphere at Old Steine - with no barriers, no stewards trying to stop people taking pics. Overwhelmingly positive response from the participants, as ever. Light, however, was awful so I'm not expecting much from what I took.

A fair few regulars were missing. The awful start will have put a lot off. Not many braved the sea at the end and those that did got bowled over by the crashing waves.

Overall, as per London, it was far from a classic ride but much better than it could have been if the awful weather had persisted.

Someone obviously keeps on eye on the WNBR threads here (for research purposes, no doubt ). Frankly, I couldn't give a monkeys if they think I'm perv - hypocrisy is rife.
I believe that I saw you having your long discussion with said lady, you were just in front of the main crowd and directly in front of the entrance to the enclosed area, I could not believe that she was stopping you from taking pics from outside the enclosure and at some distance away as well. At least once the ride left the park it was business as normal and most of the ladies were more than happy to have their picture taken. (ghpartypics)

It was totally bizarre - she was trying to stop me taking a picture of the orange WNBR flag on the back of a clothed steward's bike. Said steward was outside the painting area. At that stage there was no other participants there. She then tried to harangue me into getting a press pass and going inside the painting area to take pictures I personally consider that area off limits as the ride isn't underway at that point.

I was talking to a freelance press snapper who said WNBR Brighton is heading the way of many (non-nude) events and the heavy handed attitude of certain so-called official people connected to the ride is losing them a lot of friends in the media. They'll be happy the year absolutely no one turns up to cover the ride.

I spoke to main organiser Nick Sayers and explained why I post on here. The WNBR threads on this forum remain the best source for unbiased information re the UK rides. So it's a porn forum - no one involved with these bikes rides has ever looked at a bit of porn, I'm sure Could you imagine this sort of utterly ludicrous situation at any other event? It's nothing to do with the riders. Myself and my snapping buddy found the participants great fun and perfectly happy to be photographed - they wouldn't be taking part if they weren't. A little bit of respect goes a long way.

As ever, I would always be more than happy for anyone I snapped to see the pictures I took. For me, these rides are just fun events, the nudity is pretty much irrelevant. I know there's interest in the rides from people who enjoy seeing naked people - it's laughable for some folks to pretend otherwise.

Meanwhile, as serious snappers were being harassed, you had obvious pervs getting up to see sorts of things. The notorious 'Mr Cloth' was there and getting spoken to by the police for his inappropriate behaviour - and allowed to remain on the ride One tourist was seen holding a guy's penis while a friend photographed him. One guy was spotted by someone I spoke to later giving another guy a hand job in the painting area, albeit discretely. Various of the well known pervsters such as Mr Willy Scaffold were there with their point and shoots with no one taking any notice of them because they had their bits out. Mr Folding Bike, previously banned from every ride in the UK, now seems to be an accepted part of all the rides, despite his long history of making crude and inappropriate comments to women. The list goes on.

Despite all this and foul weather, it didn't spoil the day and I was glad I decided to do both London and Brighton this year, after at first thinking I wouldn't. Despite the madness, the London stewards are very professional and sensible in their approach and do a great job. Brighton is a little clique and while most stewards are fine, they always manage to find one or two who behave ridiculously. I would definitely have been more forthright and probably involved the police if faced with someone repeatedly obstructing me from going about my lawful business at any other event. As it was, I knew that that vast majority of my shots would come with the ride underway and at the end of the day, the one and only picture I was prevented from taking was of a flag, and mine being CC usually end up in various media sources reporting on the ride, so it's just a little less publicity for their cause.

I find it hilarious that you are considered the pervert by the people who are running around in public with their genitals exposed to strangers no matter what the cause. This world is seriously turned upside down. I thought the whole idea of these rides were to raise awareness against car culture. You'd think the more people were exposed to these rides, whether through media or the internet, the better. I'm starting to think these events are nothing but an excuse for a bunch of exhibitionists to expose themselves to unsuspecting women and children using protest as a guise. Clearly this woman has no idea what it's about. If it wasn't for people like you I wouldn't even have known that these events even existed. My hat is off to you and your fellow photogs.

Default Barcelona wnbr is dying

I went cycling to this year's WNBR in Barcelona, Spain. It's my third non consecutive time there. Its quite obvios how every year it gets worse in attendance numbers. It has never been as big as London's or even Madrid's. But if you see pics from previous years, you could see a good pack of both genders mostly nude. On more recent years, many people opt to wear swimsuit or underpants. My last time there, only two women got completely naked, and the rest went topless or with swimsuit.

I missed last year's, which was unfinished due to the cops breaking it; apparently no one alerted the city hall about the 'pacific protest', and it being at the same day and time of the new major's investment happening, they had orders to stop any surprise protest, like this one, which no one at the city hall or police knew about. I've heard the cops where rather friendly, but attendants where rightfully enraged.

This year, very few people showed up, perhaps because of last year's failure. Maybe 20 people, 5 or six girls, non naked, non even topless. I was naked; its a great experience to ride your city in the nude! I wish everybody could experience it.

The ride was as fun as always, but can't help to feel a bit bummed out. Next year its going to be 5 guys, 3 with our weiners out and if we're lucky a couple of girls in swimsuits.

The city, a big multicultural one with lots of different nationalities and travelers, is quite open minded, specially towards nudity and protests. The new major was an activist before running for the town hall, so the current local government is quite cool and lets say, "modern". We have a couple of crowded nude beaches in the city, a bunch of famous nudists that stroll around the city in the nude, and a quite well organized Critical Mass movement with over 100 cyclists joining every first Friday of the month. So why is our WNBR slowly dying? Did the paparazzis on previous years scared our girls away as some users have mentioned here? I've heard this issue from girl attendants too, how they can feel un confortable with the non biking paparazzis, the press and finding their pics on the web. Is nudity too vain for the locals? Maybe that too. Maybe the nude biking seems too ordinary for Barcelona now. I don't know...

I took some videos and a very few pics I'll share in here. I guess the videos will have to be uploaded to a different thread.
