Depends what you want? To document the whole ride, then Waterloo Bridge (I will avoid it this year though), Lincoln's Inn Fields is great for individual shots. With a bit of planning you can do lots. For 2015 I have plans. |

I'm curious what you've heard. Does anyone know if they are going back to their old ending point by the arch, or sticking with the park like last year? |

Four of this group- including all who covered up in 2015- signed on for Cardiff 2011. Not in 2012 and I've not checked '13 and '14 yet. Looks like a pre-and-post Uni thing to me. Haven't placed the others yet in photos but here I think is the 2015 fairy lights girl from 2011.
Also I imagine I'm probably not alone in recognising the painted steward? imagine her a couple of stones lighter... ![]() |

really looking forward to this saturday's wnbr in london.
There was an article about it in yesterday's Time Out magazine (a free magazine handed out to people on the london subway), I took a snap of it. I hope this encourages a lot of people who wouldn't usually take part ![]() |

I'm going to take the hyde park route, and hopefully get some good coverage. It would be nice if someone else could cover the other limb too?
![]() There are reports that there won't really be any stops this time around, which is kind of a bummer. The stops were the best photo ops. |

They are doing a 'rolling merge' i.e. no waiting for rides to catch up this time, this probably won't work, it's a bad idea and I think the riders won't like it either, so the ride might get strung out, having said that there are constrictions in the ride anyway. Here are my plans; Go to Marble Arch, it will be chaos, they will try and start the ride by Cumberland Arch, oh dear. The rumour is that they will start this big ride early and it will be slow and the other rides will fall in behind. Before the ride leaves I'll walk up Oxford Street to Bond Street Station and take the Jubilee Line to Westminster, assuming there are no cyclists at this time I will walk up to the Cenotaph and wait for them, if they arrive and wait for other rides to catch up I'll stay and take footage, if they ride past I will follow to Westminster Bridge and follow the ride, I'll try and stay as far ahead as I can. They are saying they will not stop Forum Magnum Square, this is nuts, but if they don't then I will continue to Waterloo Bridge and go over it, filming the ride as it passes but my aim will be to get to Lincoln's Inn Fields ASAP and spend as much time as I can there. When the ride leaves Lincoln's Inn Fields they tend to move slowish. I will go to Covent Garden and I have a place in mind that will be full of tourists and requires the cyclists to slow down, I haven't done this before so this is a risk. I will then take the tube from Covent Garden to Hyde Park Corner, hopefully I will head off the ride. This is my personal opinion, but I have a strong suspicion that they will turn off the ride into Green Park, they have used language such as 'the end point isn't finalised' and they are ending in the 'Hyde Park Area' so I will walk up Constitution Hill and gauge where the final stop will be. I hope this helps. |

Do you think that's feasible? Or is it unlikely I'll beat the ride getting from Westminster to Lincolns Inn Fields on the tube (it's about 12 minutes journey according to TfL). Or would I be better off on foot? I don't mind a bit of a run! ![]() Obviously I'll share any photos I do get on here. Last edited by qwertypaul; 06-12-2015 at 05:00 AM. |
