I am a young and in-shape guy, have always been jealous of the fact that the girls get to show more than the guys on topless beaches. Last summer, I wore a thong swimsuit (actually a g-string) for the first time in public in Croatia. The beaches I visited were fairly isolated and uncrowded and a mix of nude, topless, and textile beach-goers. I alternated between going completely nude and wearing a tiny g-string and nothing else. I did not encounter any problems -- "free" beaches as opposed to strictly nudist ones appear to be fairly relaxed, though I was the only guy there in a thong-type suit. In fact, I got a lot of positive attention from the ladies, including two Czech university girls who were thonging topless next to me -- I wound up hooking up with both of them for some pretty intense three-way action over the course of two nights and one day, including sex in broad daylight on a deserted beach. Always wanted to do that, never thought it would be with TWO girls. (Kinda hope somebody like Sandfly "voyed" us.)
I hope to visit the seaside resorts in Romania and Bulgaria next summer with one of these Czech girls, who has become something of a long-distance friend with benefits and no strings attached. My girl says she would love to see me "thong" on a more crowded beach (she, of course, would be in a thong and topless), but I worry about the kind of response I would get from the more macho Romanian Latin types. Fairly skimpy speedo bikinis would obviously be tolerated for males (though, distressingly, dork shorts appear to be taking hold), but the luxury of going bare-assed and getting a great, nearly all-over tan may be something only the ladies are allowed to get away with.
I have some Olaf Benz "whale-tail" thong suits that I could try wearing at a place like Vama Veche, which from the pictures online appears to be a mixed beach, and stick with a Kiniki string tanga suit with a rio-style half-coverage back when we are on the main beaches. The switch may result in some odd tanlines, though. Honestly, I know even less about Bulgaria, so any advice would be welcome. Maybe Bulgaria is more relaxed and the occasional guy can enjoy the same freedom of wearing minimal swimsuits as women do -- and get some great tanlines -- without attracting the wrong kind of attention from the locals.
