Naked Woman With Angel Wings Says She Was Nude ‘Because I’m Stupid’

A naked woman, wearing only a pair of angel wings, was arrested Tuesday morning in Arkansas, and when police asked Christine Lawrence why she chose to parade around in public nude, she told them simply, “because I’m stupid.”

As reported in the Arkansas newspaper, The Baxter Bulletin, police were first alerted to the situation by the newspaper itself. Someone there called the cops to report a naked woman with angel wings on her back bothering a newspaper employee, asking if the employee had been “saved.”...

A Baxter Bulletin delivery carrier was in the process of loading her vehicle with papers for her morning route when she spotted a naked woman in the newspaper facility’s parking lot.

“I could tell she didn’t have any clothes on at all,” Debbie Donovan told the paper’s reporters. “All she had on was suede boots, that’s all. I thought this was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.”...

Tuesday was actually the naked woman’s 47th birthday, but she also would not say if going outside in her birthday suit was her way of celebrating her the occasion.

That said: tomorrow, Saturday February 1st at noon, nude bride and naked TV host Gypsy Taub will once again disrobe in the name of nude rights. This time the shindig will meet where this whole thing began: at Jane Warner Plaza in the Castro. In the event of rain (goddess willing), the nude-in will move indoors to the Center for Sex and Culture, which seems like a much less radical place to be naked.

Anyhow, according to Taub, the nude stunts seem to be working: The cops didn't hassle anybody too much during her naked nuptials back in December, so she and her pals feel they've done some good work arousing a change in attitude.

Allen Henson, Photographer, Sued Over Topless Photos Atop Empire State Building

Hensen has recently taken photos of women topless in crowded NYC restaurants.

Last August, a model climbed to the crowded observation deck and took her top off as 30-year-old photographer Allen Henson captured the image on his cell phone.

The photo quickly went viral on the internet and angered the owners of the Empire State Building, one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York City, who said the observation deck was full of tourists, including children, at the time the photo was taken.

"We were doing a social experiment," said Henson, adding he has been photographing fashion models for three years and also shot photos of topless women in Central Park and in Manhattan's Peninsula Hotel.

Henson began taking the series of photos after becoming aware of a May 2013, New York City memorandum that prevents police officers from arresting women who expose their breasts in public.

Henson said he wanted to test the social implications of the rule, but added that the pictures atop the Empire State Building were not taken in a professional capacity.

Several detained as nudists protest anniversary of SF nudity ban

About a dozen nudists participated in the noon rally Saturday at Jane Warner Plaza where Castro, 17th and Market streets intersect.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after the rally started and took at least four activists into custody for public nudity.

Protest leader Gypsy Taub said in the year since she was arrested for standing naked in front of City Hall on the first day of the ban there has been growing acceptance of the body freedom movement.

Photographer comes to St. Pete to photograph the nude in public places

She wore nothing beneath her white flower patterned dress. An hour before, Maddie Kaye had even pinned down the arm straps so she could quickly wiggle out of it, and just as speedily tug it back on.

The 24-year-old bartender has nightmares of being naked in public, sometimes trapped in an elevator with others. But she thought maybe this stunt with the man she met the night before would help.

Her beer shook in her hand. She sat at the table inside the Engine No. 9 restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg Friday afternoon, beside the window with the shades opened. In the background, patrons drank and ate at the bar. Out front, Harvey Drouillard waited with a camera and a hand in the air.

Thumbs up.

The dress fell in a ruffled pile, just as she had practiced. She walked outside, flashed her peach rear to Drouillard as she posed and read the outdoor menu.

Inside, someone finally noticed.

"Look at that," said Kevin Rowe, seated at the end of the bar.

As calmly as if she had left behind her keys, Kaye walked inside again, sat down at her seat and dressed.

"Look," Rowe nudged the woman next to him.

By the time the woman craned her neck to see, Kaye and Drouillard were gone.

"She was completely nude," Rowe said. "Naked."

That picture will probably be a postcard in the future, or possibly inside a calendar, or even hung in an art gallery. It was the artist Drouillard's first visit to St. Petersburg, and already things were going better than expected

Peru authorities crackdown on naked photos and streaking at Machu Picchu

Tourists getting naked at one of Peru's most iconic cultural sites are facing a crackdown by authorities.

The move to step up surveillance at Machu Picchu comes after videos and photos were posted online of foreigners stripping off and streaking across the Incan ruins, prompting a response from the Ministry of Culture.

Last year, two Antipodeans - an 18-year-old Australian and 30-year-old New Zealander - were detained by guards for baring their backsides at the citadel...

Last month, a video was posted to YouTube showing a naked couple streaking across Machu Picchu, considered to be a sacred holy site, as a park guard gave chase....

Other naked Machu Picchu photos that have appeared online include of an Israeli blogger Amichay Rab for his blog My Naked Trip, which features images of the writer posing nude throughout Latin America.

6 women stage nude protest outside Louvre in Paris

The Louvre has always showcased nudes. Never quite like this.

Paris police say they arrested six women Saturday for baring their breasts and more outside the pointy-pyramid entrance to the museum in front of dumbstruck, applauding tourists. They were released after identity checks.

Protest organizer Safia Lebdi says the demonstration was connected to International Women's Day. She says the women waved flags of Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Iran to highlight the many legal and cultural restrictions imposed on women in the Muslim world.

One of the naked protesters, Amina Sboui, is a former member of a Paris-based exhibitionist group called Femen renowned for its topless protests. Last year Sboui spent more than two months imprisoned in Tunisia for allegedly desecrating a cemetery by writing "Femen" on a wall.
