Well, recently the breaker switch cord went out on the freezer and fridge I keep plugged in the garage, and I found the beer warm and the stuff in the freezer thawing.

What are you supposed to do in this situation? You can't refreeze the stuff, so you have a party.

Fill the tub with ice and throw the beer in, put out some tables, light up the charcoal and start a nice fire in the pit.

Now, call the neighbors you like, your friends, have your wife do the same, and sit back and let them pick out and cook their own as they like it.

So, I brought out two flat screens (one for the kids to watch, one to play music for the party..jazz), my old shoe shine bench, lots of chairs and watched the fun happen.

before long, the groups began to form. The office group over there, the guys group over here, the ladies group over yonder, the farmers and live stock guys around the table. the kids group climbing up and down that old shoe shine stand and across the lawn.

to encourage the connections, I would introduce different people to each other, but my wife was the one who got them all going.

She told them she had hidden gifts in brown paper bags for the adults somewhere in the forest. The kids bags were full of candy and hidden in a closer area. They should go look for them if they want..and they did want.

The adults went into the woods in small groups and found lottery tickets, the kids just got buzzed on sugar.
