Also, if you famliarize yourself with the philosophy of the WNBR, in addition to advocating reducing carbon exhaust emissions from motor vehicles, and promoting cycling as an alternative to driving, one other goal is highlighting the vulnerability of cyclists to injury from careless motorists. The naked aspect is intended to drive this vulnerability home. As a cyclist, and a pretty intense one, I'm very aware of the dangers that some motorists pose to us. Anything that accentuates this is a good thing. Whether the point gets driven home to the gawkers who turn out is another story, but maybe it registers. Maybe they'll never view a rider along the side of a busy road the same way afterwards.
