A man who tried to spy on members of the Chinese Olympic swimming team at a training pool has been banned from entering any female changing rooms or toilets for five years.


Declan Crosbie was caught peering over the top of cubicles as members of the team were getting changed at a sports centre in Leeds.

A judge at Leeds Crown Court told him today he thought the public would be better protected from Crosbie by a community order rather than sending him to prison because this would guarantee he would go on a sex offenders' treatment programme.

A previous hearing heard how a woman reported seeing Crosbie enter the changing room and members of the Chinese team, who were training at the pool ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, also made a complaint after spotting him looking over the top of cubicles while they were changing.

When staff at the centre went to find the 25-year-old, he hid in a cubicle and tried to answer them in a woman's voice.

He then came out and begged staff not to call the police before running away.

Crosbie, from Lea Farm Place, Leeds, later handed himself in to police and pleaded guilty last month to trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence.

The defendant was jailed for three years in 2009 after trespassing in a private home and he was found standing over a sleeping student, whose trousers had been pulled down.

He also has convictions for voyeurism in 2005 and 2006.

Today, the Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier QC, said the 2009 jail sentence was passed in the hope Crosbie would be sent on a treatment course but it never happened.

Giving him a three-year community order, Judge Collier said this would guarantee he would attend the course.

He said: "I'm satisfied it is on the public interest and long term interest of better protection of the public that I make a community order in your case today."

The judge barred him from entering any female changing area or toilet for five years.

At the last hearing, the judge queried if the case should be dealt with under special fast-track Olympic rules.

He said it was technically an Olympic offence but there was no suggestion the defendant knew who the women were.

Crosbie sat listening to the judge in the dock dressed in a grey suit and black tie, flanked by a security officer.

The court was told he was already on the sex offenders' register.

Naked woman turns heads at Orlando International Airport

A naked woman caused a bit of a stir Friday at Orlando International Airport before police took her to a hospital for a mental-health evaluation, authorities said.

The woman arrived in a taxi about 1 p.m., said Carolyn Fennell, an airport spokeswoman. Witnesses immediately began to call police to report her.

"Our dispatch calls kind of lit up," Orlando police Lt. Gary Hayes said.

The woman, in her 50s, took off her clothing at the entrance to a parking garage, he said.

"She said something about Jesus making her do it," Hayes said.

Officers took the woman to Florida Hospital East for a psychiatric observation under the state's Baker Act.

Her name was not released because of health-privacy laws.

Nude photos prompt blackmail probe in Boynton Beach

A Boynton Beach city commissioner sent naked pictures of herself to her lover, eventually prompting a criminal investigation into whether a lobbyist used the photos to blackmail her, according to documents obtained by The Palm Beach Post.

Marlene Ross, a commissioner for five years, told prosecutors last month that she felt lobbyist and former Commissioner David Katz had pressured her for years, trying to sway her votes on many key issues. She even admitted she lied last year when she signed a letter saying he’d never lobbied her....

In late 2010 or early 2011, Ross told prosecutors, she had sent her first cousin Rogelio Vera – via private messaging on Facebook — “compromising” photos of herself that she’d previously created.

“You had some sort of relationship?” State Attorney’s Office Detective Robert Flechaus asked Ross in a Sept. 12 interview.

“Yes,” Ross said in audio supplied to The Post.

It was in late 2010, Ross said.

“He started with the flirting,” she said. “I said, ‘Oh, c’mon. This is not right.’ He’s a first cousin. ‘This is not right. You’ve got to stop.’”

Police: Florida Couple Had Sex Atop Restaurant Table While Parents, Kids Watched

A couple who decided to have sex atop an outdoor table at a Florida restaurant--in full view of families dining nearby--avoided criminal charges because witnesses declined Monday night to provide statements to police.

The manager of Paddy Murphy's, an Orlando eatery, summoned cops after he "was notified by several patrons that a couple was having sex on a table in view of minor children," according to an Orlando Police Department report.

Tom Murphy told officers that he approached the couple early Monday evening and told them to stop. But the man, identified by cops as Jeremie Calo, responded, "She can't get up at this time." Calo, 32, was referring to his companion Tiffani Lynn Barganier.

Nude art record attempt in Brisbane

At least 40 nude models and nearly 500 artists have taken part in a new, unusal world record attempt.

The group are hoping to make it into the record book for the biggest 'life drawing' class ever.

Gathering inside Brisbane's Colossus Hall in West End earlier this week organisers said they were overwhelmed by the amount of interest.

We had to turn away between two and 300 people who were patiently waiting in the rain," organiser Manny Petavrakis told thebrisbanetimes.com.

'It was a space issue, we just couldn't fit any more people in'.

With such strong public interest in the project Mr Petavrakis is already looking forward to the next challenge.

'Now we are thinking we should lay down the challenge to the southern states, a sort of arty state of origin and prove which is the most creative state in Australia.'

The organisers are still waiting on a decision from Guinness World Record officials.

Who is the Vienna Venus? Hunt for mystery woman who boarded Austrian train naked

For passengers on the early morning commute, it certainly brightened up their journey.

A woman boarded the subway rail network in Vienna wearing nothing but a pair of knee-high leather boots and a smile.

Passengers were stunned when the nude woman got on the Vienna U-Bahn near the Kardinal-Nagl-Platz station and stood in the middle of the carriage for several stops.

And she appeared to have no qualms about posing for pictures when several commuters reached for their cameras and started snapping away at the modern-day Lady Godiva.

She got off the train a few stops later without saying a word....

One publication has even offered to feature the woman in a photo shoot - provided she identifies herself and reveals her reasons for doing it.

According to the Austrian Times, a witness said: 'I couldn't believe it when she stepped on the train and when some people grabbed their mobile telephones and started taking pictures she didn't object.

'In fact she even seemed to be posing for the camera.'

While the woman's actions have surprised many, most seemed more concerned with the fact she chose to bare all during snowfall and freezing temperatures in Vienna.

Vienna's public transit operators Wiener Linien told the Austrian Times: 'We know that everyone has a different perception of temperature. We do not believe that it so warm in our subways that you have to undress.'
